I hear it might be pay on the day in the main stand...

There is confirmation on RUFC website that its ticket only for both home and away fans. (Police advice)

Looks like I've missed the boat for this one if we can't pay on the day. Not sure how it makes a whole lot of difference having to order a ticket in advance.

Bummer, I was going to pay on the day, just like Rotherham are going to pay on the day!

Theres some left. Ticket office open till 2pm tomorrow.

Think a defeat is on the cards as we couldnt score in a brothel

Trivia time - what year, and where, did United last play a competitive game in Sheffield that was not at the Lane or the Sty?

I am going to say at Olive Grove before Wednesday moved to Hillsborough which would be 1899ish, but I have a feeling there may be something more recent.

I quick check of soccerbase would suggest the date was Oct 1898.

does this go into extra time or a replay?

no need 1-2, our Chad.

can't get excited about this tournament

Can't get excited about struggling to beat, even fact even getting outplayed* by, a 4th division team (with a pretty much full strength team out).

* Rotherham had much more possession, more chances and by all accounts were unlucky to lose. Embarassing.

Thought Rotherham were worth the win tonight, they looked quite a tidy team. Some nice intelligent passing, they created a lot of space for themselves with some good moves. They were very fired up for this and gave it everything. It looked like we were just not up for tonight at all.

This is all with the caveat that I was sat almost at pitch level, some distance from the pitch... so what I saw was fairly limited to play at the Blades end.

It sounds like you listened to it! I gave it a miss, my mate (tranmere fan) texted me to tell me about their lad getting injured and also informed me of our game.

I presume that the JPT is just a friendly game.

The only "exciting" thing about this tournament is that we could play Wednesday again

As a rawmarsh lad i thought you'd have been cock-a-hoop :)

Andy Scott may well be our manager come 2012/13. Watch this space.

p.s. I am pro-Wilson, but i fear failure to gain promotion will see him shown the door.

Eh. Wednesday got knocked out.

I got back home at half 9 and put Radio Shef on (via Bladesworld). Edwards was lambasting United and Ronnie Moore was smug as. Then up popped Ched with the last kick of the game and 'robbed' Rov-ram. I then looked at stats (I was looking for the team selection - which was a strong side we put out) and saw that Rotherham dominated possession, created more chances and had more shots on target. I'll tkae the win and a bit of luck. Worrying times though.

Raw-mish has autonomy from the rest of Rov-ram and its allegiances aline with Sheff ;)

Hows that then? they went out first round.

We were poor last night. But we won. I would say on another day Ched would have got a hat trick but we all know that isnt possible. It was more fun on the tram back into town

Highlight of the commentary for me was Keith Edwards saying (near the end of the first half) something like: "You can tell that Doyle hasn't done much - we haven't mentioned him".

It was midway through the second half that the penny dropped - or maybe someone sent him a text.

Was it really that bad – or was Edwards just feeling exceptionally grumpy?
