And of course one of Wilder's first actions as our manager was to transfer list him, having been well aware of his contribution to the club till that point. The View From Wilder was at that point in line with most of those that would have been happy to see him sold.

Yeh, Wilder the fan couldn't see it either. He was fit for Adkins season, it was his attitude what stunk so just live with it

So was Wilder in fan-mode rather than manager-mode when transfer listing him? It's not as though he inherited a player that hadn't been involved and was already listed – he had featured a lot for Adkins in that 2nd half of the season, and hadn't been ever listed by Adkins?

We can either accept that his performances were poor till Wilder came in and that Wilder was fully justified to transfer list him before Coutts nailed down and changed his mind, or Wilder is alongside us in "not seeing these things" when he arrived so fans can hardly be blamed for that apparent ignorance. It's quite difficult to see something that was barely visible – no doubt why Wilder listed him...

OK lads, I wasn't picking out anyone in particular.

Coutts was not fit for a long time playing for us and he got grief for not being committed, no tracking back etc, when it seemed clear what the issue was to me.

He also seemed to pull out of tackles, which can be down to having hus injury in the back of his mind. He got hammered for that by some fans too.

Some fans don't see these things at all and expect a player to be 100% no matter what.

You could be right, and he was fully fit under Adkins and just not pulling his weight but I thought he still wasn't 100%.

Don't recall wilder stating a reason for transfer listing him, could have been a bit of both or neither, either way he didn't think he was worth his wages.

Maybe he needed a proper preseason under wilder to regain fitness and confidence and the Wilders man management helped that along.

I never heard any complaints about his attitude from derby fans.

comparing apples to oranges.. Fleck has 'never' been in doubt.. Couttsy was gash when he first came, i think he would probably be the first to admit it too
