I've been called inane many times, but never the the other thing.................
Ha ha. You've just not being trying hard enough!
Thanks for the failed dates 'Nam style flashbacks..................
You don't understand, you weren't there...
I agree. It might not be technically on his CV, but everybody in the game will know he was at the helm for the vast majority of the season.
You give me meal at 'spoons, me love you long time
The fact remains that a large proportion of this forum don't want to/or can't move on...I think we don't deserve another thread aimed at stimulating debate as to whether Wilder can be turned into a pantomime villain to appease those among us who feel sufficiently inadequate at his leaving...
No matter how much angst we all externalise on the matter, the fact remains we are moving on, just as he will do one day.
Can't we get back to discussing something much more beneficial like whether Billy Sharp's legs have gone or the price of programmes....
It’s semantics but what he negotiated or was due under his contract isn’t necessarily the same as what he was entitled to. i suspect that’s the point of the thread and is a matter of opinion, so can never be conclusively answered.I think he's entitled to what was either negotiated or contracted

CW was on maybe a grand a week at Northampton?
Not a bad wage by any standards, but SUFC gave him the vehicle to, through his success, times his salary 8 fold
Maths not your strong point?!Just bear in mind minimum tax on that would be 40% so he will only get 1.6 million![]()
The question over whether he 'deserved' the money isn't real to me. It's what he got and he's goneIt’s semantics but what he negotiated or was due under his contract isn’t necessarily the same as what he was entitled to. i suspect that’s the point of the thread and is a matter of opinion, so can never be conclusively answered.
So will their agent, you dont tend to just guess at release clauses when you match themThe only way I'd pay him £2m is with a clause that he can't come for any of our players seeing as he will know exactly how much their release clause is.
45%Maths not your strong point?!
He’ll do well to take home more than £1.1m with the higher tax rate of 50% over £150k. In the UK the general rule for employees is that the more tax you pay the more you earn though so he’ll be ok.
‘Kin hell it is, not bad for 4 years work plus bonuses!Didnt anybody tell you Billys legs went 3 seasons ago
Isnt it more like 80 x fold
Or we pay him if buys all the crap players he signed for us.The only way I'd pay him £2m is with a clause that he can't come for any of our players seeing as he will know exactly how much their release clause is.
That won’t happen. It’s an arms race. They’ve got a big gun, we’d better get a bigger one, or a more shooty one.The ludicrous money paid out in football is a disgrace. The guy is a football coach, having already received a crazy salary beyond most people's dreams. The sooner some sort of perspective returns to football remuneration the better.
Or 1.1 to 1.2 millionJust bear in mind minimum tax on that would be 40% so he will only get 1.6 million![]()
So it seems Wilders pay off was £2m.
Saw an article linking Wilder to the Celtic position and it mentioned he was still getting paid by Sheffield United for the next 6 months.
It seems that Wilder was on £4m or so a year.
If he was to take the Celtic position or any other managerial job before the next 6 months his pay off would be decreased.
Do you think what he had done for us the last 5 years he deserves every penny? or do you think by deserting the team when the going got tough and engineering his escape to keep a relegation off his CV and his reputation in tact whist walking out the back door with a £2m payoff is taking the piss?
