NEIL WARNOCK will be given a whopping £20million transfer kitty this summer as reward for keeping Sheffield United in the top flight.

The Blades are five points clear of the drop zone with two games left and firm favourites to beat the drop.

Warnock is already targeting David Nugent, Lee Hendrie, Alan Smith and Phil Neville. And the Blades boss said: "I'd like to be able to go to Chelsea and be able to play like we play at home."

5 points clear i wish we were. lol

£20mil mmmm alot but is it enough.

Sunderland will give keane £30mil + to spend.

Why would we need Smith, Nugent and if the rumours are true King.
They wouldn't get regular games and all get upset and could cause chaos in the team spirit.

I'd take of all of them would all improve our squad!

20 Million if he really does have thay its a good amount and we could definitley get some good players in

I just wish we didnt release how much money we had in press

If we yet again fail to address the lack of quality, ball playing midfielders in our team then we will struggle again next season.

I think Tonge and Monty have done well this year but i have yet to see us play through midfield this season, this has to change if we want to stay in this division long term.

Personally, I would like to see us sign Bullard, Koumas and Nugent.

I'd like to see Jlloyd Samuel come in too, he could help bolster our defence.

I think Sproule from Hib's could be a good signing.

P.s. this is gonna turn into a rumour mill/who do you want to sign type thread isn't it :)

I think that aswell

I've always fancied having a dabble for Danny Murphy at Tottenham

Good shout, i think there is a good chance of this happening actually; he doesn't seem to have a future at Spurs.

I also think we will sign James Beattie, i just think he is exactly the type of player that Warnock likes.

I agree about Beattie. And I think he'll end up doing sweet FA for us.

David Nugent: Yes
Lee Hendrie: Yes
Alan Smith: Yes
Phil Neville: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Jlloyd Samuel: Maybe
Jason Koumas: Yes providing west brom dont go up.
James Beattie: NOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm confused as to why people are so keen for Lee Hendire to sign, he has had plenty of opportunites during his time at Villa and he hasn't made any kind of impact.

Fair enough, O'Leary isn't the most astute manager but i think Martin O'Neil knows a thing or two about man management.

I think that Alan Quinn is a similar player and i would personally prefer Quinny over Hendrie any day.

Phil Neville: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Whilst I agree that Neville has never set the world alight, and don't know how he gets in england squad. He would certainly be a great signing for us.

neville is a class player the fact he has palyed in world cups won fa cups, premiership titles and and a european cup proves that doesnt it? very good player.better than anything we've got at the moment maybe jags aside.

id go with

neville £3 mil
NUgent/smith 6 mil
koumas 3 mil
lee hendrie- dirt cheap cos hes on a bosman
and just to rub salt in to leeds wounds healy and beckford for £500,000

Neville/Smith will definately not be joining us(well not in the next couple of years), that I can guarantee

Hendrie I do not think is the answer for us in midfield, he would only be a squad player like Leggy.

Koumas we will not get for £3million, and I think it is fairlly obvious Warnock doesn't like that he doesn't help his defence out.

Nugent is only a possibility IF PNE do not go up.

I personally don't know much about beckford, but I wouldn't bring Healy to the lane, I believe he could do a job, but I'd rather us sign a better striker.

I wouldn't mind bringing Eastwood to the lane, or Chris Brunt.... 2 players with great potential. James Collins is also an option once WHU go down. I also don't think Kieran Richardson has much of a future at OT, perhaps we could try a sneaky bid for him. It also seems that Scott Carson may be available for transfer in the summer.

Why are you all against Phil Neville?

He would increase your squad so much, better than anything you have right now and has had a pretty decent season on Everton

Hendrie - Good player

Nugent - Good signing - unproven at this, any more than £4 million - Id be unsure

Koumas - Nyea, average

Smith - Be awesome for you

Beattie - Great signing

J Lloyd - Depends on price

With £20 million, you really should be able to build a half decent squad

Chris Brunt would be an awesome signing for you, and i feel he would definatly make the step up to the premiership

If we are serous about mounting a charge to the prem next year, we need to definatly keep hold of key players, ie whelan, brunt, simek (definate class there).

Eastwood would again be a dodge one - very unproven and depends on the money

Because he's been massively overrated for his entire career, and now he's getting towards the end of it. Bradford City made the mistake of getting in over-the-hill superstar players, and look where they are now. I'd rather get in someone younger who wouldn't upset the team as much. I'm not convinced by Hendrie, definitely not Nugent - I've seen him play poorly far too many times - Koumas, or Beattie. I'd really love to get Smith and Richardson in though.

Yeah we could do someone who can put the ball outta the stadium, no nonsense stylee :)

And also some else to get double figures from midfield, pop 60 70 yard perfect balls and wip in some quality crosses.

Brunt looks to have ability but lacks the drive to work for the team. We have had players like this in the past (Ifill) and even have one now (CKR) and the majority of fans give / gave them hell for the lack of effort.

We don't need any of the dross currently turning out for sheffields second team, though they are welcome to a few of ours (horse?)

Neville looked class against us at Goodison and i would be happy to sign him but it is unlikely given how well everton are doing.

Smith is playing for Man Utd, there is no chance that he will sign for us.

Eastwood is a lower league player in my opinion and i cannot see him ever succeeding in the premiership.

Luke Young would be a good signing if Charlton go down...

That is Brunts only problem, occasionly he can be very lazy, however, over the last few weeks he seem's to have overcome that. He is looking avery good player

I dont know enough about him to comment really, there seems to be a bit of buzz about him so i suppose he must be doing something right and he has scored some cracking goals this season.

I personally wouldn't like another player from sheffield wednesday at the lane.

Whilst I know there is a lot of tongue in cheek in this comment, I do see a valid point too...... BUT and it is a BIG but, I don't believe we have the "keef" kinda thing which would do us great benefit on the left. Brunt would give us a platform to actually be able to link up with stretch. Brunt is also not afraid to take risks ie shooting from distance. I know it is a lot higher step between the 2 leagues, but Brunt is one player I think would have the quality to make the step up, and I would gladly welcome him at the lane.

Another player mentioned on here was Beattie, POTENTIALLY would be a good signing, if he could recreate his scoring form from the saints, then we would have a bargain on our hands at say about £2 million, stumbling block maybe wages though.

Think mainly we will be looking at players from teams who are going down.

A few I would like to see IF they was to go down would be....
Wigan - Scharner, Baines, Camara
Fulham - McBride (but I think I read he was going to play in america), Niemi, Browny
WHU - Gabbidon, Collins, Green, Tevez lol :D
Charlton - Young, Reid, Marcus Bent (nice return for him)

There are other obviously, but these are players who are with in price/wage range and would improve our side or give excellent back up....

Do any of you actually trust him with 20 million quid? I bloody dont.

Brunt would be a excellent signing, better than any winger we currently have.

He wont go for koumas so there's no point even saying him, nugent wouldnt come to us if everton are interested.

With Warnock in charge I get the feeling we will find it very hard to attract top quality players.

WHU - Gabbidon, Collins, Green, Tevez lol
Charlton - Young, Reid, Marcus Bent (nice return for him

Really?
