United’s women’s team playing Liverpool Women’s at the Lane on Saturday 9th Oct as it’s the men’s international break. Tickets are £1, with the club seeking to beat our record women’s crowd. Let’s get behind them UTB

1521 is the record crowd. Derby sold out 1565 tickets at £37…. I think that says it all. Supply and demand for a decent product

Good luck to the club with this but surely we’re better off just farming the women’s games out to a ground that is better suited to the crowds rather than opening up the ground, I guess they can sit them in the streetwise corner

They play their home games at Chesterfield, but with the Lane not being in use by the men why not get a few people through the door to see it? I personally would not get to Chezza to see the games but happy to go and spend an afternoon at the Lane, as I’m sure many others will be.

Arsenal W played at Emirates other day. A massive crowd of 8,700 attended

For me personally I don't enjoy the women's game, nothing against women playing football but not for me. I wouldn't go to the game but wish them well.
I'm same. Always look at their table and check results. I want them to be the best team, however, watching women's football doesn't interest me at all.

I tried to watch the world cup, I really tried hard. But its actually terrible isn't it.

Or perhaps it’s just shit to watch and has no progression to the first team. So it’s very very hard to connect with… other than they play in the club kit.
Can't comment on the standard as genuinely have never seen a minute of play but definitely agreed it's hard to connect with maybe they might attract a new fan base from this and if so great.

Yeah thats great if they do. Would much rather the club pushing non league games during an international break, but that’s just my opinion

To be honest I agree there it's a great opportunity for the likes of Hallam or Sheffield FC to have a boost of attendances I don't know the cost of tickets in those leagues but surely under £10?

£41 in streetwise corner for derby game how the hell can the club justify that price in a complete dump of a stand

If only there was a smaller stadium currently being developed within Sheffield for them to share and grow in rather than playing to no fans in chesterfield

When you're at a market and you see someone selling large cabbages for £1 do you walk up to them and say you don't fucking want one and then discuss the merits of cabbages and how they should be selling courgettes instead because you think cabbages are wank, or do you just walk past and get on with whatever you were doing?

No I say look at those wank cabbages I would never pay to eat said cabbages

I’m not going up to any women’s football team and say your football is crap and I won’t be paying go watch it

Just like I wouldn’t go up to the farmer and say your cabbages are shit and I’m not gonna eat them

My own personal opinion is that they should let the women play on the Saturday after the main event has finished and players have done warm downs so maybe 5:30 ko and anyone that has a match ticket for the men's game can stay and watch and likewise anyone that wants to just watch the women can buy a ticket but can't enter ground before 5pm that is the only way that the women will get any interest from the current fan base

Could always go for a look at our right back I suppose. Doesn't look like on the pitch ya know but ......

If you compare it to the mens game its like a different sport and you might think it’s crap. I’ve watched a fair amount of womens football, I’ll watch highlights on tv but I couldn’t imagine going to a match, it’s quite entertaining and very similar in standard and style to schoolboy under 16 level.

The womens game is currently being massively promoted and subsidised, a form of positive discrimination.
When I was younger I used to think any form of discrimination was wrong but I understand why it’s fair to give women a lift up / chance to build a market for the womens game.

At £1 admission I expect a decent crowd of about 10K, mainly families, women and kids.
Think there probably is a market but it’s different to the regulars that watch the mens game.

The women's game is different - more intricate and tactical than the men's but its a bit slow. If they played on pitches that were 1/3rd the size, that would speed it up and make it a better spectacle. Maybe smaller goals too
Women's football is not men's football, so why pretend it is by insisting on the exact same pitch sizes?

I don't have any problem watching women sports at all and by that price I'd be there showing some support. Of course it's easy to comment from abroad, but would thought blades fans wouldn't limit their support only to best 11 on men's team.

Think how nice it is for the team to get a change to play at Bramall Lane and how big it would be to see massive ground cheering and supporting for them like people do 1-2 per week for our first team. How often You have change to make ~20 ladies feel them selves special and give them a (good) memory for a long time? It only takes 1£ + 2h hours of Your time and some voice for those positive shouts.
