Should we mine Leicester for signings?

Can’t afford him.

He’s on £50K a week until 2028.
if he’s got a relegation clause in wages, which loads have at 50%, then he’s on £25k pw from July - which we could do

However, we are seeing with Arblaster what that injury can do, so I’d be very nervous investing top end money on someone coming back from that

Under contract so absolutely no way they are taking a huge haircut when they can sit on those juicy contracts. If Leicester will pay 70-90% of the wages and loan the right player to us (most are shite so I'm not interested) I might have a look

Choudary could maybe do with a trim but when we have the likes of Chong with that mop it seems a bit churlish to insist they change appearance if they want to keep the juicy contract 😵😵😵

Yeah, because mining Luton Town worked out so well for us this season!

I know im in the monority (and i appreciate why) but.... i still think McGuinness might be a good signing. There. Ive said it. Time will tell, but give him a run of games and some decent coaching anf there is a half decent player in there. Not elegant, not overly quick, but still a very useful Championship centre half. He will be a useful player for us i think. Chong on the other hand....

As a back up to come in to rest the first choice CBs and to cover suspensions - wouldn't disagree. Just not sure why we'd get rid of Robinson and bring in this guy.

It's the footballing equivalent of cancelling Jimmy Saville as a baby sitter, and bringing in Ian Huntley as a replacement..

If the deal is right, Choudhury and Souttar.

Maybe Monga if he still hasn't signed a pro contract.

Wilder’s clearly taken the view that he’s ‘ours’ and therefore he’s trying to play him into form. Same with Rothwell.

I think McGuinness will take the Robinson/Osborn mantle and will be a player who is fine to have around the squad, but the more he starts for us, the lower down the table we’ll finish.

Wouldn't disagree in that we should aspire for better. The trouble is limited finances. He will be an ok player for us (hes part of a winning team today) and he will do a job. Big lad at the back type of job. But... hes not top end Championship level. Thats up to CW to source that one but McGuinness is ours and i think hes a steady option, if not overly impressive. He's no Jack O'Connell.... but then, not many are. That's life (as big Frank would say).

Also let’s not forget Leicester still receive £35 million parachute money from Sky next season

Apparently they took out a loan for this season against next season's parachute payments, so they've spent the lot (according to some of their fans' comments on Reddit)

Oops.

Oh dear....must not laugh.... ha ha ha ha ha 😆😄😆😁

Fatawu, Choudhury.

Souttar was immense for us last season but is just too much of a risk. We need to learn from previous lessons.

After that, god no.

I would be quite happy if SUFC were a failed club but had a Premier League title and a CL quarter in recent memory
And FA Cup too, it’s a bizarre set of events that in 5 years you can go from winning the FA Cup and looking like the next solid Premier League side to being on the brink of going into League one.

That's a credit to them. The point is though why would we would we want any of their current crop of players who have all but relegated them?

They all looked shit today against a poor Portsmouth team, Choudhuy looked a headless chicken before being subbed, it's a no from me, poor players on big money

They got relegated from the premier league with a midfield of Harvey Barnes, Maddison and Tielemans.

The inability to harness talent like that, and again in the league below, suggests a cultural sickness at the club. To win a title and a FA Cup, and then to have to rejoin the real world was clearly too much for their collective psychology.

Absolutely not. Loser player attitude after being relegated. We need winners and fighters.

Choudhary argued with fans and officials before being subbed. Shocking attitude. If Souttar can pass a lengthy medical maybe but I doubt he'll be the same player he was unfortunately. If he makes the Australia world cup squad (unlikely) let's see how he goes over summer.

I am not a contract expert but be interesting to know if players have “double relegation” clauses within their contracts, no doubt there will be players from the Premier League side, so when they drop back to Championship but would it also be another drop for League one? I guess Luton might have the odd few too
Thats the problem, these entitled bstards never had relegation clauses in their contracts. becos they won the prem they thought they would become part of the big 6, relegation was never part of the equation. alledgedly 30 groundstaff are on notice at there huge training ground which is the only premiership thing about the club. they are indeed in deep shit
