He's been written off ever since with monotonous regularity by some on here, who really should keep their traps shut.

He looks fit as a fiddle, still has a turn of pace and strong as an ox. Plus those superb goalscoring instincts have been honed to perfection, with the finishing skills to match. He’s nowhere near a spent force and if he plays regularly enough this year, easily gets into double figures.

Since he's come back he's just got better and when you saw him turn away after scoring yesterday he looked fitter than a "butchers dog".

In the Southampton game him outmuscling a defender didn’t come as a shock, but what I hadn’t been expecting him to do was follow it by leaving the defender for dead. Shame he botched the finish, but the sudden injection of pace was pleasing to see.

That said, what’s the actual source for these stats?
