"Worst" or "lowest"?
Was winning Division 4 worse than this season?
Is that right?
Not forgetting we have never previously spent more than 5 seasons out of the top two so this is officially the worst period in our history .
Hopefully we can turn it around before it gets that bad. Wednesday went through that phase the previous decade and they've recovered. No it isn't, 2nd worst. Our average league position from 2011-12 to 2015-1 season is 6.2 in League One. Between 1979-80 and 1983-84 it was 14.4 in League One and the first place in the old fourth division counted as 25th.
Extrapolating forward if we finished bottom next season our average position would fall to 9.1 whilst looking back though we got out of the league and finished 18th in the old second division in the 6th season our average league position was 11.1 in the third division. Every cloud eh!
In terms of being outside the top two of course this is the 'wilderness years' or as I like to call it the 'Notts Countyisation' of Sheffield United..

They never spent this many consecutive years in the 3rd tier. also the financial gap between League 1 and the Championship is bigger than ever, and has changed dramatically since we were last there 5 years ago. I'm afraid this is our new normal.
Yeah, it's the splasher next to a painting of the original locomotive no. 61649 'Sheffield United' going over the Wicker Arches. Unfortunately I don't own a mini replica of the splasher though, it's just a part of the image. As an aside looking at your avatar do you have a mini replica of the splasher Sheffield United? I got mine years ago. Think someone in Derbyshire made them?

Our worst finish in 33 years since 1982-83, when we also finished 11th in the third tier. That's pretty shit.
Who do I blame? McCabe, who has seen his club plummet from the Premier League to mid table in League 1. What a fucking disgrace.
At this rate we'll be in the National League early next decade.
I've been looking for one, does anyone still make them?
I'd trawl the i-net Wappers. Can't remember when I got it. It may have been in the 1990's.
Mine sits in front of the telly as a homage (clearly not had much effect!)
Bit harsh, clearly Tevez is to blame
Well not really. If Scarborough Holdings had crashed in value over the same period do you think the owners would have kept with the same Chairman or MD if he didn't own it?
Getting out of the Chumpionship (sic) in an upwards direction is one thing. Getting out of League One with a club the size of Sheffield United is another.
I've tried that to no avail hence me asking. My dad has got a piggie one (saw it this afternoon) and I've always wanted a Blades one.
How hard did you look eh? c'mon not very hmm. Naughty boy!
Here's the link. Found it in 2 mins. £59. Look under B17's bottom of the panel. Regards

I don't know what a "splasher" is but I've got this. No 58 out of a limited edition of 250

Splashers were akin to mudguards on a road vehicle. It is the covered area where the wheels of a steam locomotive protrude through the running plate.
Thanks a million, I did look a few months ago and found fa, really grateful.
