Get rid of Adkins, don't bother with a retained list. If a new manager comes in and wants to re-sign any of our out of contract players that's up to them. If a manager does their homework before they take the job they'll know the relative strengths and weaknesses of the players we already have (or mess about assessing the squad for months trying to make two in central midfield work rather than making the most of what they've got).

Trouble is we want hear him say something along the lines of " we know those who will be staying, the scouts have our targets for next season in the sights and it will be an exciting time close season as we built a squad to kick ass next year"

Instead I'll not be suprised if he wakes up in the morning confused about what day it is having played on a Sunday.
