Lap of honour for the players/stay away Saturday

I don`t think we will be hearing the phrase `lap of honour!`, it will be announced as `the players showing their appreciation of the supporters`.

I plan to be in the Beer Engine long before a lap of any variety is even mooted.

If they want to show their appreciation, the useless fuckers should have a whip round and stick it behind the bar for me.

I can't make the match but would make a superhuman effort to turn up in the car park to wave good riddance to an awful lot of them. Will be listening on BP and in the shoutbox though.

Great idea,

How good would that be, Platinum suite, open from 10 on Sunday, free bar courtesy of the players.

Might start to forgive them the pain they have caused me.

My bad. So so tired can't even figure out what day of the week it is.

In the old days I would have known how many days hours and minutes it was to KO and my whole weekend would have been planned around the last game of the season. I would be tinged with the dread of the closed season wondering how I would survive Satdi afternoons.

These days I'm so glad I don't have to make the effort and I'm glad the seasons over never felt so embarrassed about a season even when we went into the forth. Don't get me wrong I will be there next season and every season thereafter cause it's a way of life until they carry me off to Hutcliffe Wood.

No doubt our players will be out on the lash celebrating the end of the season and off for a well earned break.

Worry is from his fans forum output it's sounds like Kev and me feel he same way, and that's a worry for next season.
You think you've got problems , I got up for work yesterday morning

This is harsh, if not wholly undeserved.

I suggest public flogging in front of the kop, followed by 24 hours in stocks newly erected for the purpose in the car park would be a more suitable punishment.

Rather than a lap of honour, just seal them in the stadium and we can have some sort of thing like The Running Man, whoever survives stays next season ;)

We're off to Spain taking advantage of not being in the play-offs. I'll watch the last day events from a bar with Wi-fi s Barney would you please try not to post "GOAL" on Shoutbox when it's nothing of the sort. Mind you it matters not now, but it did then. It's the sort of thing a non-football fan would do. I wouldn't even do that on Porktalk frankly.

Am I preaching?
I can confirm that I have never attempted such a thing. You may be confusing me with brownie, who liked to make this one of his shout box hobbies. I think he's learnt from his mistakes now though so all is well.

Are there any plans for a new shirt?. That would get me there on Sunday, if they showcased some lovely new red and white striped shirts.

James Wallace being carried round, and Sammon waving with a big grin on his face would be the final insult.

Actually, I would stay to watch that, James Wallace being carried round the pitch on a stretcher, waving to the fans, Coutts would only have to walk around the centre circle, as a walk round the entire pitch would leave him panting for breath, Hammond walks aggressively into the back of someones leg and gets a yellow card.

We can't go back to red and white stripes. What will happen when we play at home to sides who also play in red and white?
We can hardly expect them to change. Wouldn't be fair.

Use your loaf!

We should all turn up on Sunday, we'll win 6-0. Don't forget half the tossers are playing for a new contract so it will be the one game where Flynn makes a few tackles, Sammon scores a brace and Hammond passes to a player on his own side!!

On the condition we can throw house bricks at them, it's a yes from me NSB

Agree . Do we let Adkins drive home so he can enjoy his take away pizza from Broomhill and then a brisk walk around Encliffe Park then down Champ Élysées Ecci Road window shopping.

Let us not forget when being the Witch Hunter General that Adkins is not guilty , nothing is his fault , and the new tactics for next season will be from Fly Fishing by J R Hartley.

Adkins is a fucking tactical , motivational genius.

You can all come back wen the good times arrive.

Come back? I've not been anywhere yet.

See the season ticket admissions thread for proof that while most are happy to grumble, or indeed not bother for a nothing end-of-a-shit-season game, glory hunters we are not.

Chance would be a fine bloody thing.

Threads merged by the way... covering the same topics

We just need to sing ` we have got Billy Sharp ` , for the full lap , the only one to earn his money this season.

I think it woukd be a good thing if Team 163 turn out and play whilst the so called players sit on the Kop to watch how it is done. Why I might even come out of retirement and shout " watch this Conor" as I leap to out jump SF.

Or perhaps we could just sing "Cheerio cheerio cheerio", to the rest of them.

Just hope they don't bring their kids on with em. . . . . children shouldn't be exposed to bad language and vitreol.

surely we will be too busy applauding Scunthorpes last minute move into 6th
in a gesture showing no malice, or envy

or just sing to nigel in turkish

Görevden alındı, sabah

I wonder if they'll do their lap of "honour" in 3-5-2 formation?

Well it looks like the majority of us will be giving the players an ear bashing as they stroll around the pitch (haven't they done that for the last 46 games?)
Time for us to show them our "United together" for this season

I was shocked twice at Full Time. firstly that there was a lap of "appreciation" at the time I was unsure because gary sinclair Microphone was a bit muffled so was struggling to understand what he was saying but back on topic because after losing 2-0 like that I couldn't believe that they would I would've been too embarrassed. But they showed more guts after the final whistle than I saw majority of the season & that fans wanted to stay behind. Because I saw the exodus & was shocked that their was fans left to do it. Normally I would be 1 of them but I just couldn't justify it.

But 1 thing I want to say is that from some people from videos stayed to have ago at the players boo & shout abuse. Now during the game emotions run high & I can excuse majority of behaviour as ive seen mild mannered men turn into the hulk. But to that during the lap 10mins after FT is crossing the line because that's calculated & shouldve left like I did without clapping them

This. A hundred times this. I can just about accept the idea that you have to stay positive during the actual season, but I'd be more prepared to give Adkins the benefit of the doubt if he actually came out after it finishes and spoke honestly about the disappointing effort this season, both from him and from the squad. A genuine mea culpa would certainly encourage me to cut him a bit more slack.

The trouble is, I have a sneaking suspicion that he actually believes the meaningless positivity he endlessly spouts - and that's what worries me. Can he actually see the problems, and specifically the mistakes he's made? If not, we may as well pull the trigger, again, and let someone else drink from the poison chalice next time around.
sorry hadn't read this. felt obliged to post the same just now
