Well and truly set in at Burton now, fell out with the star centre half Cansdell Sherriff and they are now only 6 points ahead of Bradford who are on fire, and in my opinion will catch them. That would be enough to make sure he never gets a job in football again if he manages it.

Forever cutting his nose off to spite his face the arrogant prick.

Adkins has just now started to get the Clough factor out the Lane but there's still a long summer to go yet. I hope we stick with him as the last 4 home games have been extremely enjoyable and they've actually played with all the passion you'd expect. Fortress Bramall Lane might just be on its way back, just hang on in there.

It's not been easy and at times I've questioned whether Adkins is the right man but after what Clough has done to Burton I'm almost certain that it's not mainly down to Adkins, he's still clearing up the carnage Clough left behind.

Please Kev, for once in your life back a manager. He's just starting to get it right and the past 2 games at BL are the first time I've left the lane with a smile since Southampton at home.

the last 2 performances surely make you think why has it took 40 games to get it right
same players Clough had more or less ,shown they can play , utilised properly

And here's me worrying about The Adkins Factor . At least the bloke appears now to be getting it right , with 4 games to go.

Agree completely with that, apart from Bradford catching Burton up. I think JFH amassed just enough points to make it impossible for even Clough to mess promotion up for them.

Pete , I actually think Burton will blow it , as they appear not to have a plan B , and Bradford are on a roll . It does prove a point that perhaps McCabe was correct in giving him the push .

Good luck to the Bradford manager Parkinson , who is never in vogue , but as done well on a low budget .

He's done exceptionally well considering they looked almost unmanageable when he took over. He's been given time though.

Positive indeed Danny. Smile on your face for two games out of over 20 this season and you are encouraged. Adkins can't ask for more than that can he.

Very good point . He has been the Bradford manager since 2011. Bradford can be classed as a big club , but it is how you define there expectations and success . Is he finally achieving promotion for them . The fans seem to like and respect him.

Did we also interview him , or want to interview him for the managers job , before Adkins got it.

Suppose it comes back to how long do you give a manager , and would he have been a success at BDTBL.

As predicted weeks ago.

I also said at the start if the season we need to be very patient with Adkins clearing up the Robsonesque mess he left behind.

CLOUGH A BANG SHIT MANAGER OF THE HIGHEST ORDER

errr.....err....err...errr....errr...but...err...err

he talks in a negative/cautious fashion, never sounds upbeat and full of ifs buts and maybes!

We did interview him and was offered the job, first reason he did not come was compensation couldn't be agreed and the second, believe it or not was we (the fans) didnt want him.

He is trying to FO to Florest now, his future otherwise is the record lowest points ever in the Championship with the Brewers.
Won't be at Burton in 12 months time.

I always listen to his post match interviews, sad b****** that I am. I find Clough a fascinating, complex individual. Each week he says "we've not scored many goals all season", this week he said it's time for the players rather than always the management team to provide the lifts that are needed after a bad result, last week he thanked us with some sarcasm " Sheffield United our previous employers for doing us a favour ( v Walsall)", the edge is back in his manner and he is rattled. The rival teams have not taken advantage as yet, Bradford are the most likely now but they have come from so far behind. Walsall have lost their way with two away defeats. Gillingham don't look good enough. Burton should be alright and you're right it would be a remarkable failure if Burton don't get automatic.

That game at Bramall Lane against Burton BTW was eminently winnable if only we had played at 70% of our capability, but we didn't and 3 more points wasted.

He's cleared out lots of dross that couldn't play. You know, your superstars that are now warming Fleetwoods bench.

Adkins took far too long dispensing with the chaff and hasnt brought in any fresh wheat
no one said we had superstars , , just some good ones that needed some help , which he never got in
as Baptiste gets fitter it show how just a little influx could have got us there
an opportunity totally missed

It's been done to death, but you refuse to see it.

He's clearly has a remit to cut the chaf before purchasing any wheat. Only in la la land is this not patently obvious.

Whilst I don't quite go to your lengths, I know what you mean..he's an interesting character indeed!

One of those was a 0-0 draw at home ,champions league here we come
A 0-0 but a very good performance and on another day we'd have won 2/3 nil. Can't knock that. They fought every minute till the last and we haven't seen enough of that unfortunately recently. I know it's the least we should expect but we haven't seen it at the end of the day.

Things seem to be starting to go in the right direction.

I think we should just ignore the previous 39 games because we have played well in the last two.

I got 4/1 that Burton wouldn't go up 2 weeks ago. Now 11/4 on Sky

That Burton team was already a Clough sort of team before he arrived, yet he's still managed to well and truly fuck it up. It's great to see.

Hopefully Bradford catch them but if not it'll be enjoyable seeing them break records in the Championship next season.
