2 things...

1, I don't get the outrage initially and the f offs headed Suns way, it's a forum it's supposed to be open, if it's itk, then surely that's why your here, to learn about things first by everybody sharing stories etc...if upset with owt, you need a chat with yourself mate...

2, the blind defence of Adkins, based on achieving absolutely fuck all over a full season..... I don't get it, because when you get a capable manager, who knows his stuff he can wring performances out of even the most average of players, we talk about Harry getting the best out of players who'd fell by the wayside or who were deemed not good enough, took em all the way to the first division, and on to make history in the premier league, thing is you see a spark of genius in that type of man, I dint see it in Adkins, I see a manager who thinks having a pool of forty players to build a first 11 out of is a huge negative, me I'd build a good first 11 out of 40 much easier than if I had to do it with only 20 professionals... That's pure logic, having more choice enables you to create competition, or is it that he can't gat his old pals in cause the bus is full...who knows...or cares anymore.. Adkins had one job...currently he is failing, a bang average manager should keep us in the top six all season, the football isn't any better than, clough, Wilson, or Adams, remembering Adams was playing better opposition, and it didn't save thier necks did it.... Not fussed about warnock as he's not got the years on the clock to do it again, but he's up for manager of the month after transforming Rotherhams form from certain relegation, to champions form at the moment...no mean feat... Bet Aston villa are kicking themselves..

It's ironic, but I expected a similar result with Adkins, sort of if clough can get this out of them and clough was crap, with a proper manager who's done it all, we'll be untouchable......I couldn't have got it more wrong....don't care if he stays or goes..but it's no better....it just isn't, so having blind faith is ok, but understand why you have it... It's not for football reasons were supporting the manager...it's for frustration about our perceived lack of loyalty, we as fans should only care about the team and how it plays... I don't think Adkins is the answer based on the teams play this season....sorry... He can go for me truth be told, and yes I'm fine with starting again, but it must be with the right man and up to now we haven't seen him... Time will tell, but I see nothing progress wise after pretty much a full season.... Bad times indeed..

...having had the benefit of the tail-end of the previous season to assess what was needed...
I honestly don't see this as significant.

Adkins has added crap to the squad. He obviously thought these players were useful. If he'd had a quarter of a season extra I doubt much would have changed.

Bassett already knew what we needed. He signed Agana and Segers early on. He didn't have time for the root and branch clear out he then executed in the summer.

If Adkins, arriving in June and negotiating in May couldn't work out by September what we needed then it just confirms his football knowledge and or judgment/decision making are not very good.

If I was Chris Wilder I'd be staying put. Disaster club who sack managers every year in order to divert attention from fundamental problems that never get sorted. Complete farce, Northampton will make it out this League before us at this rate!

Couldn't agree more, Northampton seem to have now sorted themselves out, with an ambitious owner, Wilder would be a fool to give that up now, Blade or no Blade.

No need for Chris to Jump at SUFC, he and his current club are on the way up.

Probably get smacked by em first game of next season.

No rush Chrissy, only 12 months till the job becomes vacant again

Mind you Noton might be in the Championship then

yes the lure of the sixfields stadium would be hard to resist
its of cathedral status to which all fans aspire to

any one next August starting from game 1 would obviously choose cobblers over us , just to chant the name

we are cobblers . we are cobblers ,

Oh the massive cobblers over the mighty blades .chris we are going to double your wages ,cheers kev where do I sign

The difference is that if Northampton aren't in the top six by Christmas, it won't be an issue.
If he was here and we weren't in the top six there would of course be 'serious question marks over his ability' and, most likely, people thinking he might have to be sacked.

I know which scenario would be far less stressful and far more secure. And it's quite nice feeling secure in a job.

Maybe McCabe has sold him the "Dream" ..........................

Think if you want job security and no stress football management wouldn't be a line of work to go into

Ambition comes into play though, is Wilder in football management to feel safe
Why did Warnock leave the comfort of Bury, to prove he was better ,

weve had 2 failing nigel s
lets see if we can get a second decent W manager in

Bury sacked Warnock

True. You clearly have to have a love for it. But anybody arriving at this club is under immediate pressure to deliver promotion because of the size of the club and how long we've been down here. With this board, the scale of the task regarding squad rebuilding and a fanbase which is sick and tired of being in this shit league, I reckon it's a far less attractive job than it might appear.

. Complete farce, Northampton will make it out this League before us at this rate!

was also thinking that - with the momentum they have if he stays they could do a Burton (or what Burton would have done if JFH had stayed)

Just to chuck something into the ring. Someone has been leaking information out of the lane. Wonder what story we could send out that may sound feasible just so that we can flush the offender out and find out who it is .......

Also, while the improved salary here is tempting, he can increase his reputation further at Northampton, get a better paid job in a higher league than us with a board who actually know what they are doing.
I think half of being a good football manager is picking the right jobs.

If you notice each and every one of his announcements have been in this style. A cynic might conclude that the bloke is narrowing the already slim possibility that someone from the club might be able to trace his usual wording habits from emails/letters etc.
Or, mr sunjihi is actually posting on sites, with the full knowledge of km, to gage the reaction of supporters to different scenarios.

Of course your right BTL but there is more to it than that. If CW receives the right backing from the board of course he would be a fool to turn it down, but will he ?. Some serious money needs spending to turn us around and I can't see that happening. So if Chris wants to come here and paddle around in the swamp that is league one for the next god knows how many seasons, that's for him to decide. Before you pore scorn on the Cobblers by the way, just think of the so called smaller clubs that have left us trailing in their wake in recent years, Burton, MK Dons, Rotherham, Bournemouth etc etc.

He won't get a job with someone who's board know what they are doing, that's why he's linked to us.

Our problem under Adkins has been attracting players, either theres an aversion to come here spread about by ex players or someones just not promoting us right as a viable option

Youd think most ambitious players would love to come to play in front of 19k rather than 6 k
but somethings putting them off

Appointing Wilder would be an extraordinary leap in the dark. 48 years old with no managerial experience at a top club, and a reputation for a direct style of play. If United aren't in the top six all season, all these things will be pointed out and comparisons with Mickey Adams will be ubiquitous.

codswallop

“The crux of it is we wanted to bring a couple in,” the Sheffield United manager said. “The crux of it is that there was money put on the table.

or is Adkins the liar
or what was it , hes covering for the board mwah ha ha

Do you think he would be likely to tell the press and the fans that his bosses were the reason he didn't sign players?

You don't think managers mislead in this way?

Do you remember Beatie's flu and Harry's sunstroke?

Also, say club A wanted 500k and we offered 50k ( as we have in the past) he wouldn't be lying, but the reason would still have been money.
