They always count season tickets anyway regardless of whether they show up.

I am sure we have had this debate before.

Obviously Wednesday have 500,000 season ticket holder but just not all of them show up for match days.

They count the season ticket holders whether they turn up or not don't they?

There certainly were a few disbelieving laughs and people looking around the stands when they announced the attendance. I would have said 16,500 - 17,000

Perhaps the most ridiculous overestimation yet. (And there's been some pretty ridiculous ones up until now.)

So now we're announcing an attendance much larger than was actually there?
I've been in BDTBL almost full capacity and they've given an attendance as though we could get another 10,000 in.

Who's doing the accounts?
No wonder we're in lumber .

Usually they say 17k-18k and today Walsall brought a decent following, so seems in line with the usual questionable estimates.

There were never 19,000 there today, south stand and John St were not two thirds full.
That's because we count season tickets, whether or not they attend.

No think about it, not just from a United standpoint, if you count everyone who buys a season ticket as attending and you then examine crowd flow in certain areas of a ground and you declare it fine, how do you really know?

Taking it back to United, that bottle neck at the back of the Kop near the toilets and refreshment stall, on a truly full game I have had serious concerns about it and even brought it up to the club after the Spurs game last season I have moved through it pretty easily over the last few weeks, not so other days.

The attendance, in line with everywhere else, is given as tickets allocated, whether used or not - we were one of the later teams to do so.

They'll know exactly (well, as close to exact as you get with these things, with people entering via differing means) how many passed through the turnstiles for health and safety.

How times have changed. Never used to be like this.

At Alan Hodgkinson's testimonial some guy with a Swag Bag made an announcement that there were 5,000 there and thank you for your support.
