With fuck all better to do, I thought I'd have a bit of a look at previous points tallies and how they stack up against this season. Below is the fag packet sum I got for 6th place going of our previous 4 seasons in this division amongst divisions.



As can be seen, having Bradford either continue picking up points at the same rate, or at the average rate for teams in 6th over the last 8 games put them finishing on 74 points or just shy.

This gives us a guestimated target of 74 points, 19 points from 8 games or in other words, no trip to the Green Man this may.

Thats assuming feckless they pick up points at there present rate for us to make it Bradford may have to take a slight dip in form that's not
unusual at this juncture when the pressures on.Another factor is Millwall &Gillingham are catchall too,but the governing factor is what we do !
and with nothing to lose we have to go for it.

Of course, all the sums did was take the average points picked up by others in 6th and extrapolate, think it will be 71-75 required this season - irritatingly out of reach

I usually think 75 points should get you in the play-offs and owt as low as 72 puts you in the mix. Given how this season has gone in the division, with no team outside the top 4 being that convincing or consistent, 69 or 70 might get a team 6th spot.

I can see it going to the last game of the season, with us 3 points off the playoffs. Down in 9th or something, but still in with a chance if we win and three results all go our way.

I had a look at fixtures & guessed at 14 pts which would put us on 69 would likely have to beat Gillingham & Coventry unlikely. to even make 6th which I cant help but feel would be pointless. We arent good/consistent enough to have anything but yet another play off failure
