Ricky, I really did, I love the Blades winning, I love the club, not one shot on target. 3 points, clean sheet. What were you hoping for Herbert?

Whilst I admire your inner Blade enthusiasm (alcohol induced or not) I would remind you it was an ok performance in a mid table battle in the 3rd division. ;)

Sorry to burst your bubble mosbolad , but I did hear the protest yesterday, or should I say protester (singular).
One lone dissenter behind me at the back of Gangway F on the Kop, shouted "sack the board", but absolutely nobody joined in.
Mind you, that was when it was still 0-0. I'm sure he joined in the slow tempo "Oh when the Blaaaaaades, go marching iiiiiiiiin" after Billy scored. ;)
Up the Blades!

Happy with the result, the goal, Sharp and Basham. Adams looked better too. Otherwise it was a crap game between two bang average third division also-rans. Just imho.

To the OP the insistence that being a big blade is about always saying we're better than we are and ignoring the issues at hand is as bad as the constant negativity displayed by others.

Fair enough go to games and support the team and if you don't agree don't take part in any form of protest, however if you're happy with being a 3rd tier team with an outside shot at promotion despite having pissed tens of £m's up the wall in the last 10 years you're delusional.

Everyone is happy when the team win, however the next time we lose the cracks will still be there and will allow the slashers to slash again.

People will always bury their heads in the sand and you're welcome to carry on, enjoy the victory but no need to come on here giving it the big one because we've won 1 nil at home against Port Vale.

How can we knock the lads no goals conceded as mentioned decent crowd we won 1-0 not the best game but an improvement.play offs back in sight u.t.b

It's nice to get a win, and we certainly played better than the absolute disgrace that was Bury, but plays offs back in view? We're only 1 point closer than a team who are better than us and have a game in hand.

2 emergency loan signings, maybe even just one and top 6 is very reachable!
Could you imagine finally winning at wembley then going home to watch the pigs lose there the following day- taking toytowns place in the championship and relighting the steel city derby!?
Wow, what I difference a win makes.

Was i mistaken or did I hear a large boo when Coutts came on , he deserved it for his last effort.

Deluded

Not seen the game yet but I did fear that (following a pretty abject and desperate week which saw Bury do the double over us for the first time in 90 years, the ensuing meltdown, the idiot Baxter dragging our name through the mud again and McCabe having to go in front of a microphone to try and quell the rising flames at BL) the team would fold mentally and we would get spanked at home showing little fight or spirit.

We didn't and for that I am royally thankful. A small victory in the scale of things but a significant one I hope.

It was cooooots ,have you never been before ?
Every Utd win is great no matter how it comes about. That's what I go for.
Have to admit I thought they were booes, glad to be wrong on that

Back in veiw definately .one win doesnt guarantee the playoffs but if we had lost that game against p/v the playoffs would have been all but out of sight light
At the end of the tunnel and all that .slightly improved performance no goals con ceded saw a team with a few loan signings good ones .bringing even more chance of playoffs season not over yet utb after bury rubbish great attendance great fans

Sadly, the play offs disappeared in January.
It's nice to get one win but this side is is so inconsistent we could end up getting battered in the next match.
We'd need to win the majority of our matches left to catch the sides above us.
We won't do that.

It was tongue in cheek,
But moving up one place, and the piggies losing at wembley since they are currently 6th,isn't exactly out of the question...
Even if us winning at wembley is.

Like your post pete blade bt who knows couple more wins and way rest of results going lately, nobody consistant other than top3 or 4 as pj proby once sang theres a place for us ( playoffs).one thing i will say though is that we are consistantly inconsistant

I fear them getting to the play offs they're so fucking lucky.
Enjoyed yesterday evening, us wining and them losing.
The deluded part is us getting a couple of loan signings. lol

Really DerekAcorah. One might have thought that a Sheffield United Fans Football Forum would be the perfect place to celebrate a win with like minded Blades fans. Maybe a whingeing moaning complaint style post that we only won 1 nil would have been more fitting and more to your liking?

What's worse, people not being over the moon and delighted with a scrappy 1-0 victory over Port Vale or people spending their time slagging off other fans who aren't over the moon and delighted with a scrappy 1-0 win over Port Vale?

Youv'e got me their Pete.....

Yes I was deliberately over enthusiastic in the post as an antidote to the constant carping and criticism that goes on. I do genuinely think though that some fans have their agendas and may well have been happier with a loss that would have provided them with a stick with which they can beat the club. However these 'fans' are in the minority as was shown by the 18,000 who turned up yesterday and cheered the team along.

No, the last time I went there was booing, Scougall came on, and it was appalling. Many years earlier it was a full back, Uhlenbeek, he used to get shocking treatment when he came on......

Luckily the vast majority in here aren't Barney's.

But also, no one needs it ramming down their throat and told how to react when we edge a shit game of football in a shit season that keeps us in a shit position in a shit league.

Wayne Allison used to get the same terrible treatment...

Fair enough Pete, I think well have to agree to disagree on this one. I did enjoy the game and the whole day though. I don't think I rammed anything down anyones throat.....or told anyone how to react. Yes overenthusiastic but good grief isn't that what being a fan when you win is all about. We jump and cheer and shout, it's escapism.

I went to Bury last week which was the other end of the enthusiasm scale, so I am sure you will forgive me if I enjoy a victory and a good day out with mates?o_O
