I hope Clough and Burton win the league ,purely because we wont and I quite like them both as a club and a manager. Well compared to everyone else who I hate anyway.
I will applaud Clough when Burton come to the Lane and just wish he was still here.

Who's their manager? Must be doing a good job. Perhaps we could entice him down to BDTBL I bet he'd be really popular.

I suppose what the Burton , Gillingham , Walsall , Peterborough , even Wigan are and we are not , can be summed up by the statement.

They are well run clubs. It does seem to be the recipe for success.:D

Chelsea are 23 points behind Leicester fucking leicester , just let that sink in for a minute

thing is with football , fortunes fluctuate
weve been in division 4 do you know
and used to be a regular in the top division , long long ago
Sorry remind me when Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Man U (74?) Spurs (78?) or even Chelski fortunes fluctuated so much? West Brom, yoyo, Man city 1 season in the third. Has there been a club that you'd compare to us,( Forest, Wolves, Pigs, Leeds, Leicester, Derby, Sunderland, Newcastle) or others you choose that has spent so long flapping about like a fish gasping for breath on a quayside.
Moira Stewart main headline on 9 O'clock news. "The 6th biggest club in English football has been bought out by". Fill the rest in you you feel. Now we'll be lucky to be 36th.

So far this season, we're on 68 and there's still three months to go.....

man city they dropped in to div 3 but within 15 years won the title
forest won 2 european cups and had a long spell in division 3
weve won buggar all for 80 years, our history is that, history
so weve had 5 years in league one ,
palace , swansea cardiff and several others have had decades in division 4
theres only 10 clubs in the prem thats spent more than half their existance in the top flight

the rest of us move up and move down , we are in a lull thats very frustrating
but we arent first to have one and we wont be the last

Unfortunately yes, I hate them with a burning passion but it looks like they've gotten it right.
It's on us to get it right now.

I regret to say I have to agree. This means that I shall have to consider the nuclear option or perhaps the more sneaky clandestine release of virus carrying mosquitos into the swamp that is pigsboro.

Burnley won the title in my first season watching football then were 1 game from going out of the league and had many seasons in division 4
but are competitive once again, this is our goal

Every single team above us are there on merit, no matter what their fan base, or ground, or history, or towns population.

...and the small matter of having massive financial backing. Yes, Stoke, Norwich, Bournmeouth etc. were in the Third Division not long ago. Since then they've gained huge financial support. Ditto the pigs, Leicester, Bristol City etc. etc.

Also, having a stadium built for you (B & H Albion's Community Stadium cost £198m) like Leicester, Derby, Man. City etc. doesn't do any harm.

Palace have not been in div 3 since the 70's forest spent 3 seasons in this div. the others you have mentioned have dragged themselves up to be better than us.
Name me a club of equivalent or slightly lower size that before 78' had finished no lower than 12th in what is now the Championship that has done so badly as us?

They have all got something we havent at the moment Better board.better players.players with better attitude.s better tactics skill pace determination history tells us in some capacity we need all these things.History tell us once youve got the rubbish we have it takes time to get rid it wont just happen overnight all the teams mentioned on this thread have done that .history teaches many lessons but doesant guarantee success Our supporters deserve better especially the loyalty thats shown ie attendance but sadly we cant change the way our team is run

With the benefit of hindsight - totally agree, another poor knee jerk, emotionally driven sacking, but sometimes sacking the manager is the right decision - i.e. Rotherham

you have to say a big well done to all the management and playing staff, they are in a great position,we play them at the lane, tues 1st of March, interesting to see what the gap will be then

I go to every home league game however bad the situation, but the thought of seeing that smug little twat Clough walk away with three points that night puts me in serious 'give that one a miss' territory.

If we stay down we'll get 14,000 next year.

Sorry to say you are so wrong, the same will turn up as all the other years we have been stuck in the league. Go no further than the shit we are serving up now, fans still turn up including me. I still hope and prey that we will come good this season or the next one. We are like sheep we just keep coming back we can not help ourselves we are fans.

So it's the fans fault?

They have a board that cares ,one that attends games even when its not Man Utd ,one that is in tune with the feelings of the supporters ,one that is supportive to its manager. If I had invested the money that these guys have I would be there every game ,even training and on the team coach. Wait till I win the lottery and Ive bought my wayon, things will change you'll see.

I just posted this on bm and stand by everything I said, and I would be a smug twat if If I took 3 points off a club who sacked me!

One for Herbert and the only reason I singled him out is because he was the most vocal about clough. Do you think sacking clough was too hasty? I remember you said any manager would have got us promoted last season. I will answer the next couple for you, did we improve under clough in terms of when he came in? Yes we did. Would we be in this position under clough? Not a chance. So the man you said was completely useless is taking a team into the championship.
Now I didn't ever say clough didn't make mistakes of course he did but my argument all along is that you cannot keep sacking managers. We are in this position because we keep sacking managers. Did Wilson deserve the sack when he did? No chance, and neither did clough. It not just the sacking of managers it's the timing, sacking Wilson just before the playoffs ridiculous, sacking clough when he had made a decision who to retain ridiculous.
Now I am going to say something which will get people's backs up! This club's fans are terrific and the loyalty is unbelievable, however we have to take some responsibility in our position. It is us fans who put pressure on the board to sack manager, both clough and Wilson were hounded by a portion of the fan base. When will we realise that sacking mangers all the time ha a negative effect on this club? The likes of Herbert are not happy until they get there own way. Look at Barnsley they stood by there manager after the results they were getting and are now above us. For God's sake have some patience and give a manager some time. It is only a matter of time before Herbert comes up with a hilarious name for Atkins and begins his personal vendetta until he gets sacked.

Blame the fans, adopt a smug, condescending attitude, and make a post with appalling grammar and punctuation.

"That said, some of the current problems in the side (its size, for example) are byproducts of our trying as a board to be true to our approach, in circumstances where we allowed the Technical Board process to be thoroughly undermined by a gaffer who was not interested in the process; hence, some of the excesses (recruiting in quantity, signing injured players etc). We should have seen what was happening (the excesses anyway) and responded to them more quickly.

I think if we take JP at his word this statement possibly explains why NC was dismissed and I don't think that's down to the fans.
Sacking Wilson was probable KM replicating what Mandaric did for our neighbours, unfortunately Mandaric invested in a seasoned manager not a cheap option we went for. Again nothing to do with the fans, decisions made by the owner and board.

equivalent club , cant think of many whos been less successful in the past 80 years
who do you think we compare with , Burnley . had more success than us been in 4th for 9 years
oxford luton both won a LEAGUE CUP both are in DIV 4
COVENTRY , won an FA cup 30 odd straight years at the top
Portsmouth won the fa cup in 39 and 2008 in div 4
so weve had 4 full seasons in league one , weve got to 3 play offs , hardly a team in danger

I have heard that before, and it never seems to turn out that way.

Loyal fans Rodders. We are a loyal bunch which is something to be proud of. Rejoice in this and stop worrying about next years average attendance.

Spot on HH - Lenners for one was always predicting this year after year.
