He's in the pub with Higdon. Fleshing out a new deal to secure the big man's commitment to Sheffield United until 2019. Aren't we the lucky ones.

Think he's obviously frustrated that he's got the task of trying to win promotion with a team he knows arent good enough whilst also understanding the expectation of the 20,000 who turn up every week.

I do wonder if he would have taken the job if he knew how things would really be

Good question. Every potential manager must look at us and think they could do something big here. As big a car crash as we are, it must be hard to turn us down.
 
Not blaming Adkins for what happened, but with 10 hours of the window still to go, to find the whole board sat watching the U21's tells us all everything we need to know

Adkins, the two Greens (who seem to be no more than McCabe's patsies) were sat with McCabe and McCabe all enjoying the match

I feel sorry him. 4 years ago he was flying high with Southampton, then got unfairly sacked a year later. Ended up at Reading, things didn't work out. Comes here, expected to get us promoted in one season and here we are 9th in the league with a huge squad of average players on high wages. On top of that, he has 20,000 fans every week becoming more and more frustrated every week at the fact we have been in League One for 5 years which is not his fault.
I really do hope he turns it around, he seems like a good guy and with his track record, I'd back him to get us out of here next season if he is backed in the summer.
 
I reckon he's reflecting on taking a shit job when he's been offered a fantastic one and how he can fuck off without tarnishing his reputation.

Don't feel sorry for him, gets a shed load of dosh to do a job and it's not happening. That includes managing upwards, if he's not up to it we've got another big name firing blanks.

He's got the ELW and 15 games to convince me otherwise

Fair point ....... I don't believe there was ever ANY serious intention of buying anyone in the JTW ....... we were simply fed the usual line of bullshit that SUFC Board members receive special training for.

Quite crypitc but he's obviously frustrated by what's happened. He's probably trying to work out what chance he'd get of getting a decent role if he walked. Given that he's hardly pulled up any trees since joining (apart from recruiting Sharp perhaps) perhaps the Board wouldn't be too upset if he did. I'm sure that Wilder would be a lot cheaper even if they had to pay compensation to secure him.
 
I feel sorry for him. It is obvious that some at the club has made him a lot of false promises, and he is coming to terms with that, and as i alluded to a couple of nights ago i wouldn't be surprised if he is considering his future.

It would be a real shame if he went as he is obviously a talented manager but has not been backed, and i think he is our best bet in the long term.

Ah ! those 4 magical words "if he is backed" ??? NA must be thinking the same as us, what about the jamie murphy money, my opinion is they aint going to back him so it will be down to his skill in getting rid of the dead wood and they may give him a few farthings to bring someone in, meanwhile we may stumble into the play-offs or more likely finish mid table and so into next seasons league 1 campaign :(
 
It's obvious to me from that tweet that his wife has left him due to his Pokémon habit that has become so out of control that he forgot the January transfer window because he had "gotta catch 'em all"
