Of the bits I could make out, one fan asked something like "Why do you build up our expectations only for nothing to come of it?".

Phipps, barely audibly, said something about how they hadn't tried to raise expectations (forgetting about game changing investment, think Liverpool, promotion is the sole ambition, money available, all money from transfers go back into the first team, etc. etc.), at which point it turned into rambling which probably would have made just about as much sense if I could make out the words.

The general vibe being that he doesn't understand why fans aren't buying into more spin.
