Hung on till 11am last night stupidly hoping for news.
Got up and read Jim Phipps clearly pre prepared statement as has been stated .
Really now in a state of disbelief as to the whole situation down at the lane , every part of it !
So what to do now as supporters ? That's a genuine question .
We love the club so are likely to keep going and going but really ... Enough is enough.
And when I say enough I mean enough lies, incompetence and being treated like a fool.
Is there anything we could or should do as a collective or individually ??

My thoughts exactly GB but it's a difficult question. The only possible way to have an effective protest would be to stay away, I cannot see any other way unless some kind of BIFA was formed again. The problem with staying away protests is, I did just that when we sold Alan Kelly, lasted one game unfortunately, but my protests nearly brought the club to its knees I can assure you:p. To be honest nothing phases the powers that be at the Lane, crowds could drop to 6000 and they wouldn't turn a hair.

If you are genuinely a man in his mid 40's what are you doing? Stopping up late expecting something to happen? Why? It is rare than anything happens of note within a transfer window at BDTBL. If you were in your early 20's or some wet behind the ear teenager then perhaps but assuming you have supported to club since being young then this should be the expectation.

I'd also wonder why you are livid? If this was unexpected news, a bolt from the blue I'd see some reason but this has been coming. Chucking people out and a few platitudes from Adkins about players possible coming in. Then nothing happens. This is the way.

There is (as expected) a lot of mock indignation on here. I'm sorry people need to grow up. This isn't new this is the way. It isn't going to change. If you cannot get used to it then I suggest you either send yourself off for anger management classes or get some medication.

If anyone needs to compare and contrast where we really are then look across at S6. Good players coming in and money genuinely going into the first team. We are not loaded and do not have a rich benefactor. Hence we use terms like "Right Sizing" and other such terminology.

Fact is, we are stuck with this. We have a good manager, hopefully he will deliver us a better team in the coming 12 months or so. That appears to be the plan. At least now it looks like there is one.

So this is the way it is at United Bladesway, we should all have to put up with season after season , shelling out to watch our team finish mid table in the third division. Your comment about it being rare anything of note happening in the transfer window , wasn't the case last year. We were sold the rich benefactor bull shit by McCabe about the Prince. In my humble opinion, people have every right to show mock indignation as you put it. I hope your right about NA delivering us a better team in the coming twelve months but to do that we have to sign players, still ,Sheff U, come and join us as we prepare for our sixth season in the second bottom tier of league football, it's some incentive for young ambitious players that.

Just what McCabe wants to hear. Complicit, malleable Blades fans who will take any old crap as long as it sounds right.

We had some sort of senior management buy in a few years ago from a supposedly wealthy businessman and a statement from our Chairman saying it would revolutionise Sheffield United. We have sold players at the expense of poorer players. We remain in division three.

This is what you expect from our blessed club.

Good luck for the next few years parting with your ST money and watching us being beaten at home by teams you would hope we'd be taking three points from.

You can always not go this Saturday.... I'm not going, I'm doing exactly what the prince and mcabe are doing with thier money, I'm keeping it firmly in my pocket, should Wigan "turn up" we'll get a right pasting, if you disagree on that, maybe it says that you haven't been going have you... Been a hell of a lot this season, we are a desperately untalented slow team with no settled side and it's now February, nothing has changed since this time last year..

Limp into the playoffs because the opposition are on the whole shite, lose when we play a proper team that wants it....

Is he really saying it's acceptable or simply stating the reality of the situation?

Wouldn't disagree with any of that Tezza, I think it is safe to say that Wigan with their newly strengthened team will turn up on Saturday to demonstrate how it is done.

While you pop a cork from 250 miles away? Good luck to you but I assumed you would realise by now you can change nothing and nothing will change.

Both. And his tack is we shouldn't be pissed off about it.

Meanwhile, across the city ...

I'd say he's asking the question why get yourself in a lather on deadline day when the vast majority on here accepted that nothing would happen because of the shambles at all levels of the club. Hundreds of posts saying we'd sign no one, hardly any dissent to that yet when it comes to pass, it's sack cloth and ashes.

No one has the answers at the moment, especially not the board so this expectation of "change" is a pipe dream.

My point exactly, they'll want to put a marker down those new players and force themselves into the team, new blood competition for places, Morsy might want to prove a point to us... They'll be fired up with new signings wanting to impress against the biggest club and best ground in the division... I fear a pasting..

I'm not going on principal anyway, been all over the show and seen us lose, it's not going to be fun on Saturday and I don't want no part of it..

Best nights sleep I've had in weeks. Mind you I have been ill.

Ah. The old 'what do you know, you don't even live in Sheffield or go to the games' disclaimer.

So, 'fan-power' has absolutely no effect whatsoever, does it? The opinions of lifetime supporters counts for nothing, yeah?

Hope you are all listening to this, people, whether you live near Bramall Lane or are 6000 miles away, you are just insignificant, according to Bladesway.

You are McCabe and I claim my £5

pommpey

(ps: it's 225 miles, but what does 25 miles matter, huh?)

I didn't say anything of the sort, but thanks for not reading.

Bladesway isn't mcabe..

We locked horns over the Welshman ages back and he was adamant it wasn't worth it, something King kev would never had said about his 3million investment that went down the swanny...

This is an open forum where opinions divide, views polarise etc ... Is it possible we can air those differing views without being disrespectful bearing in mind we are want the same ???

Yep, wasn't being disrespectful just airing a differing view as you would say. Any chance you can answer the questions I posed now?

Turn up, support the lads, as crap and wage-draining as they are... and ignore the bollocks spouted from the top generally works for me.
As Revolution always says, ignore what they say, watch what they do.

In other words
Why give a fuck ?
Why invest money and emotion ?
Why support a team ?
Why not fuck off to meadowhall ?

Vote with your feet.

The only thing this lot understand is money.

Take that away and things may change. (although not for the better.)

And here is the point. There was a time when that would be the sole thing that mattered. Bums on seats. Even that takes second place to "branding" and other "revenue streams" these days.

Rage against everything, the Government, the rich, the man, your football club and change nothing. Or deal with what you can change and accept that as shit as it is there is the square root of fuck all you can do about it. If anyone can tell me something any of us can do to change the status quo I am all in. It should be changed it should be better, but it isn't and it won't be.

Actually why give a fuck? Do they give a fuck about us? The day the club cares as much about it supporters as we do about it has long gone, if indeed it ever was.

Why get out of bed
Its that kind of attitude that has led us to having the last few governments

Why get out of bed
Its that kind of attitude that has led us to having the last few governments

Because every day I get out of bed I can change my life. By moaning about the government and just about everything else I drown in a pit of self pity but can blame everyone else for my failings.

I support a shit football club that is badly run. Oh dear, here ends my life. You would think judging by the reactions of some on here that it was a shock we hadn't bought anyone. Were you surprised Judge? I wasn't.
