We even signed Marcus Bent in that window FFS.

And lost Britton, Ward and Bartley.

Cheers Micky. What a manager.
What a twat, he then went on to lead us to 2 points from 7 games in February that ensured we went down with a whimper.

When we go down it is usually with a fight but not this shameful bunch.

Micky Mouse would have done a better job than Micky Adams. Another McCabe master stroke, stil he won't rest until he has us back in the Premiership.

I have a hazy memory of Collins being alright at first though Roy.

Is my memory playing tricks on me?

A shit stain on the history of Sheffield United.

Not a great player but we've got bigger problems than him

Not so sure David.

What ever he was like 5 years ago, he is now one of the top problems.

Our centre backs have been dreadful ever since Harry went and this has never been addressed.

I wanted that season to be cut off like an infected limb. It already felt like a foregone conclusion by Christmas. It was so bad that I felt nothing when it happened. If anything I was looking forward to us clearing out the dead wood and pissing the league the following season.

5 years later we have a team with same problems........in a lower division........and Collins.

The way Adams basically admitted defeat well before the end of the season was unforgivable. His piss poor managerial ability alone was bad enough.

Sam Volkes on loan as well.
We would have him back in a flash

I really liked Vokes as a player, doesn't surprise me that he's gone on to do well at Burnley.

Yes. He was a total liability.

We had a Norwegian winger on loan can't remember his name ?
He was useful.

Bjorn Helge Riise.

Remember him being our only spark at Preston but thick Mick substituted him for missing a chance.

Mick Adams wasn't a good manager, but remember he was and still is one of us.

No chance - I don't care if he's a blade, no chance that is getting him forgiveness on throwing the towel in. I was chatting with a member of his then backroom staff the other year, and he said that by early March Micky Adams just stopped trying and gave up, was telling everyone not to worry, we were down and that he would just bring us straight back up the next year anyway.

He was awful that season, had more than enough time to keep us up, but was shocking.

My only good memory of Mickley Adams tenuture at the lane was the Leeds match a Bramhall lane .
Think we won or played well ,but I l know it was all over by then.

Not even surprising. You'd have thought he might have had the intelligence not to make it so obvious to the fans... nope.

He wouldn't have got us up the next season either.

I wonder what he thinks when he looks at us now...

Every season in this division I cheer myself up by remembering how many fans thought relegation would turn out to be a good thing.

It very easily could have been.

When you've got 3 first team players fucking you over (and us) ward ,yeates and Evans you haven't got a chance.

Yeates on predictive text was testes :)

I don't recall him having a great start. I remember the televised game at QPR when he was appalling. Looking at the fixtures we failed to win the next 8 games after he joined though in fairness we had won for the 7 previous either
