All a bit quiet on the transfer front?

I would like him to reduce the amount of cliches he uses, this would chop 7 minutes off the total of the interview and we'd lose nothing in terms of content.

I imagine it can be tricky not to use cliches when you have to give interviews 3 times per week on largely the same subject.

At the end of the day, when all said and done, it's a level playing field.

I haven't heard the line "the loan window opens soon but we have to wait until there is 93 days left before the play off final" . Have I missed it or will it be trotted out tomorrow tea time ?

Haha. Yes, this is true but for some reason previous managers of ours managed to do the interviews without resorting to the quantity of cliches. Nigel, don't just say average cliches for the sake of it, they have to be quality cliches which will improve the interview.

Ultimately though, if we were not so shit presently this wouldn't bother me!

I would rather he said, I am not bringing anyone in and will go with what we have, minus who else I can get rid of who won't play.

You mean since he's had chance to properly evaluate the squad?

He's since said we aren't good enough?

Surely this would fall under the category of "telling it how it is"? And should please you deeply?

He actually said that the squad was not good enough before the start of the season but then changed his mind Mr Pete - Selective memory methinks !!!

What should he say then FB?

Maybe something like. 'We are not good enough to go up with the squad we have got' (said it in July at a meet the manager do).

What about 'We need to be in touch until January'. (JTW). Hey, and we are, just about.

Or 'we have a very large squad we need to get rid of players and sign quality not quantity in the JTW'. Guess what, weve got rid of players.

Or even 'Any signings are likely to be a the very end of the JTW, I will not sign players to boost numbers, they need to make a real difference'.

We have a day to go in the JTW so we shall see, but in order to 'tell it how it is', what exactly would he say?

Soory Guys We're not buying anybody - Lets put up with Collins and Co till the end of the season !

Selling our best player every season, rarely making realistic bids for players, generally bringing in cheap rubbish - and all this against a background of big crowds and substantial money from cup runs = lack of ambition.

Other teams of our size spend big to ensure they get out of this division quickly. Our Board is happy to just drift along, going nowhere.

Fairly accurate assessment of the situation .......

Do you think football managers tell the truth during interviews?

More than a touch daft.
