What's the point of all this dross about Blackpool (tues) twitter in meltdown because we only draw it's an away game and a point away usually is not a bad result we wanted 3 but have got one ,it worries me
what the reaction would have been to a defeat. The usual moaners are at it big time, what's the point !we all know that we have got a fight on our hands to get a play off place and we all know we have certain areas where we are not good enough ,so blasting the team and Adkins gets us no where. The team is giving it there best shot can't ask for more than that!yes we want better but this squad is giving all it has and maybe that's not good enough for some blades.
Adkins has said he is after players that will make us better so unless that happens its going to be a slog
acheaving our aim.what does slagging players do! maybe some fans get a buzz out of doing that (but it doasnt help does it?) .so yes it's same old same old but all this negativity will get us no where.

I'm trying to educate others Treeton blade, with our record since 2007 it's easy to be negative this season is very much alike judging by the reaction on here and Twitter one would think we were dead ringers for relegation. We have an history of lows and highs alway through my time as a blade(60+ years) but we will be back hopefully sooner than later. Negativity never gets you any. where(apart from misery).come on you negative fans get behind the team it may not be good to watch at present but results come first

Think the problem with twitter / social media is that it is all too easy for knee jerk reactions - both positive and negative. I understand fans being fed up at being in league 1 but there should be a bit of patience shown, and I don't see much point in slagging players off - particularly in the ground whilst the game is in progress.

I suppose we were brought up with teams which consisted largely of local lads and fans had an empathy with them, whereas now the need for instant success means that bought in players whose form dips are given little or no support when they most need it.

On balance I think negativity on social media is better than negativity at the ground - sadly it's difficult not to be influenced by the type of comments you allude to

Given the disgusting abuse Long got, being local is not much help.

At this stage, the continued anger at the current state of affairs is pointless and serves no good purpose.

The way I see it, the season has been a false start, the team needs a radical overhaul and most importantly, the manager needs that vital time to build a side that he can call his own.
People tend to roll their eyes when anyone speaks of 'transitional seasons' but this is arguably the most transitional one in recent times.
The only thing I expect from this very poor team is some application, and this lack of work rate for the most part has been the biggest cause of anger for me.

I'm holding back from really losing my rag until I see how next season pans out

In my experience negative people are usually the most vocal. It takes more effort to remain optimistic, constructive and supportive
So ...........
Adkins is a good manager stay strong and back him please,
Phew! I need a lay down now.

Agreed, to a point, but NA hasn't exactly performed well. Adequately at very best. And I think it's part of the problem.

Many reasons why fans are so angry:

1. Game-changing investment which turned out to be utter bollocks. We've still spent less on players than we've made (and wages didn't count until suddenly they did. They never used to but we've swallowed that bs). The only person the game changing investment has been game changing for is Kev. He no longer has to fund the club out of his back pocket. The ludicrous constant over-promising just causes resentment. It's lie after lie. Just be honest with us.
2. As eluded to above, the constant spinning and politicking from the Board and manager. "We'll spend all the transfer money, but just in another way even though we've said it purposely like we'll spend it on actually buying players, but not enough to be tied down to it."
3. The players have been lazy dicks for most of the last couple of seasons.
4. We've consistently tried to sign players and 'worked hard behind the scenes' but couldn't get them 'over the line'. 'We don't know how other clubs work their magic of signing players. It's beyond us.'

If the club decided to be honest with the fans I believe the fans would have a lot more patience. As it is, they don't give a toss about us.

We'll know more come December when NA has had a full summer and can show us where he's going. No doubt, the bin.

I assume you are referring to the abuse at Gillingham which indeed was appalling. It appeared to be largely alcohol fuelled and I doubt any perpetrators can remember any of their rantings.

We are a BIG club and we have been in League 1 for 5 years. We'll still be here in another 5 telling them all how BIG we are and how the players are not good enough to wear our shirt, and how pissed off we are at getting turned over at home to the likes of Barrow ;)

oh well that's OK then, if you can't remember doing it it didn't happen ;)

We all know the club should be performing a lot better. But as with any sizeable fan base there will always be positive and negative supporters. We all love this club whether you be grumbler or happy clapper.
But this season is different because we're all in a bit of a quandary.
All the largely negative fans know deep down that we've had far too many managers and Adkins deserves to be given a chance. But the more positive fans amongst us also have to accept that something is radically wrong with team performance and tactics.
As a fan I feel stuck in limbo because its too early sack Adkins, but he does seem to have lost the plot a little.

I'm coming round to the idea that it's not a problem with our managers. There's something rotten at the club that rots everything associated with it.

We just don't know do we, but it is starting to feel like that. We don't get much in the way of communication from the board other than Jim's soundbites on FB and Twitter. I believe Clough made a reference after his departure about the overseas based board not being ideal. Summat is not reyt.

Funny how Paul Walker on RS tonight brought up the fact that there are players on high wages at The Lane who won't move on, suppose they are not pissed off that the club wants them gone and they are really busting a gut for us?

Not good enough for me, I deserve better after 58 years of loyal support.

That's all
And it's hard to believe they are doing their best when you see the league games and the cup matches over the last couple of years x
