Adkins comments from tonight

Last night was a very poor performance by us. As soon as it got announced their keeper had won man of the match (God knows how - 1 good save) I knew Adkins would rattle on about it and he didn't let me down.

Adkins halo has slipped, I've enjoyed about 3 games all season, not too dissimilar to other seasons in this terrible division but used to be made slightly more palatable by the fact we looked destined for a top 6 finish.

Let's not pretend the squad is as awful as some make out, it has its weaknesses which haven't been addressed but minus Murphy (a player many fans thought was inconsistent, weak etc) Adkins has the same players that Clough quite comfortably got in the top 6 in a tougher division. Adkins has made about 6 signings, one of them has been great, the others have not improved the squad one bit. Bad management.

No, we lost Davies x 2, Doyle and Holt from the team that finished 20 odd points from an automatic spot.

he failed to mention the fact blackpool a team in freefall and turmoil on and off the pitch actualy outplayed us in quite big spells and had a fair few chances to win the game ! i meen for god sake nigel why cant we beat teams like crewe oldham blackpool colchester ! all in and around the relegation zone. we are just bang average ... bang fucking average

We have beaten 2 of those teams so far this season.

I thought my point was quite obvious, but to spell it out, we only lost one player who we didn't want to lose. All the others were released/ not signed after their loan spell. I don't think the squad was in a fantastic shape when NA took over, but let's not pretend he took over a team who had just managed to avoid relegation. For instance, i think it would have been a fair comment in July to say our players. as a group are far stronger than say, Gillingham's.

Time for NA to stop whittling on about cliches and let his team's performances and results do the talking.

That's an inherent danger of changing managers. They have to learn what the predecessor already knew, and they'll also bring their own methods and preferences which may be incompatible with what they inherit.

Shouldn't have sacked Clough. Need to stick with Adkins.
