Wigan - winnable, or a need to grind out a dour draw?

I'm going tonight. Really looking forward to my first away game of the season. I've got a mate who lives in Wigan and although he's an Evertonian, he's going to be a Blade for the evening. I just hope we put on a decent performance, anything similar to the Bradford home game and I think we stand a chance. Again, I think we need to have the same mentality as we did at Old Trafford for at least the first 20 or 30 minutes and then hopefully we might be able to start playing a bit. I'd be happy with a draw given that the players put in a real shift 2 days ago. How Klopp has the cheek to moan about how many games Liverpool have to play with their squad beggars belief.

Good evening in store, dump stuff at mates, few beers, snap in Wetherspoons or possibly curry, match, few more beers and stay at mates place. Marvellous! :)
 



I'd feel more confident of getting something from Wigan if we didn't have that big awkward looking hologram leading the line.
 
Reading Roygbiv's View From, looks like they think they're fit and fresh late in the game, even without us playing Satdi.

Could be a nerve wracking last few minutes, unless we're already three down.

Well I've seen 4 play off finals and I say we can't do it by that route - we need to go up by autos 'cos we shit it on the big day
6 Main cup semis in the last 25 years and none of them a winner

Really not sure about this line-up. They're a big team aren't they. We've gone all midget.
 
I like the look of our attacking options for a change, i still think we'll win 2-1, come in Blades.

I'm a fan of Flynn but he got knocked off the ball way too easily against Man U. He seems to have lost that grit he used to have.
 



Maybe grind out a 3-0 loss? Tbf, it is HMS Smashtheleague, after all.

What did we say about Wigan, mate? As soon as we had a go they didn't have a clue what to do with us. In the end Billy should've won it but for a great save from Jaaskalinen(sp), this against a team who have made the most comebacks than anybody else in recent weeks against us who have just had to put a lot of effort in against a top 6 Prem side. We are certainly getting better and if people can't see this then they are chosing not to see it.
 
Well I said two from Done but I didn't reckon on our defence as usual! Still the record goes on that we've not won a game all season having gone one down. Amazing come back though!
 
Done is quality when he's on form, he can get 30 a season but he's just not hit that level this season yet, but hopefully him and Sharp can bang them in. We really so need this centre half! This obsession with Burn could cost us again! He's started again for Fulham tonight, will they really let him go, given they're in a transfer embargo!?

To me, they need to hang around the box and have quality service, that is the big problem I think, it sounded like Billy had to create the service for some stretches of tonight's game.
 
Totally agree Grappler, which is why we need a winger too I think.

10 goes to get it right

so weve lost 4 finals
do we just give up then and say its never going to happen
or like the team did at wigan last night roll our sleeves up and get it Done

if you fancied a woman would you give up after 4 no,s then
some fellas got no staying power

Agree, it's in our hands. All depends upon how we set up. Let teams worry about us!
