Maybe we dont want to risk playing him given that we are pushing for the play offs and Shrews are pretty happy to stick around in the division. Gets him some game time, frees up a squad slot and some wages, no lose situation for us.

It might be a unlikely considering his record as it's hard not to see him breaking down, but we could we end up with a situation where he plays more for them than us, yet with us bankrolling his rehabilitation for 18 months.

As with Tel Kennedy, we're trying to get consistency and a settled team and can't afford to be risking a position on him at this stage of the season. If he plays every game from now until the end of the season for them then fine and we can re-assess in the Summer but I just can't see it so it does seem to be a no lose gamble given that he's not a loss from the squad.

Best of luck to him. He's out of the picture at the moment so it's best to get him out there playing for someone else. If he can show some kind of consistency and form, he may still have a chance here. Unfortunately, I just can't see it happening with his injuries.

Pretty bizarre. If he's never fit enough to play for us, how will he suddenly & miraculously be fit enough to play for them?

Not a problem though, glad to see he's been moved out to free up squad space.

I think he's been fit for longer than we realise, its just that Adkins has never played him much, preferring a combination of Basham, Coutts, Baxter,Hammond and Reed with Wallace not even on the bench. Like many others, I wanted to see see him given a run but his on of injuries haven't helped him obviously.

I notice that Wallace has said upon signing for them that he has been fit for 4 to 5 months and trained every day this season!?

"I had a few little injuries but I've been fit for four or five months and training every day, I just wasn't getting game time.

Have we ever had a more injury prone player? Not sure I can remember one.

I k ow we have had the likes of Ebbrell or players with recurring injuries like Ward's hamstrings but in terms of one player missing so much football through different injuries I think he must be the worst.

If they're paying anything more than a small percentage of his wages they can't have done their homework properly.

Maybe he'll be sent back to us if he picks up another injury.

Good luck to him, let's hope this is a win-win. If he's capable of playing 20 games between now and the end of the season then there's nothing stopping him coming back here and forcing his way in for next season as he's got the technical ability to be a top midfielder - my ideal outcome would be that he'd stop us wasting a wage on Hammond next year. As to the injuries: I don't think he's been fully training for the whole season but he's definitely been fit for a few weeks now.

I notice that Adkins' "42 pro players" line has made it into the players' heads too - it's referenced by Wallace midway through the article on the Shrews website.

On loan for remainder of season. No surprise and another one I don't expect to see in a Blades shirt again. Shame because I think there was a player in there.

He needed to get out on loan and try to get some football.

I think Adkins has first team plans for Flo instead.

If he's been fit I want to know why the fuck he hasn't been playing, he's the best all round midfielder I've seen at the lane for quite a while and that's just from the few games I've seen.

He's effectively got till the end of the season to showcase why another club should give him a contract, as it's quite obvious we won't be. A shame, but inevitable.

If Wallace isn't close to match fitness, you'd have to question the Shrewsbury Town transfer policy.
Maybe it's a "loan" with a permanent deal attached?

He's out of contract at the end of the season (although I think we have the option of another year) so this might be the last you seen of him to be honest. Clearly he's not fancied by Adkins which is a shame in that he's got so much talent.

Surprised to read that. When he's been fit he's shown great vision and ability on the ball and he would have Premiership potential if he could get his body right.

It must be his fitness and defensive weaknesses that makes Adkins not want him. At some point we have to get more creativity into the side though.

He might twist a sock and be out for 6 months whilst packing his clothes for he weekend

I don't really get why he's not played more, although when you listen to Adkins he usually infers he's not fit or that he's behind others because he has been injured, so maybe its just that when Adkins might have played him, he was injured and then he's got behind in the pecking order.

We do. But I can't see how Wallace was ever going to provide that, given his injury record. Also, reading between the lines of Adkins' interviews, part of the issue may have been psychological: maybe a fear of injury also limited his performances and appearances.
