Captain McEveley

I was impressed by McEv, but Basham was easily our best player and I'm President of the Chris Basham is a Limited Footballer Society.

A big praise to the Blades today ,which begs the question. Why cant they do this most other weeks? Have they given the Board a reason not to plunge into the transfer market? They wouldn"t need much of an excuse.

McEveley put in a good tackle on Rooney early on - which is not something I thought I'd ever write.

Later on Rooney tried to get past Collins 1v1 and was routinely dispossessed.

And at that moment a squadron of pigs performed an aerobatic flyover above Old Trafford.

A case could be made for any of the 11, they all showed heart, balls and every other cliche organ.

My 2 penneth says Coutts or Basham, but if they play like that in the league we'll go until may unbeaten

I think a lot of dodgy players are starting to find a bit of rhythm recently.
McEv- been a lot better
Collins- still dodgy but a bit less naff
Hammond- seems to have settled to league one
Coutts- much improved (although not the quickest by a long way)
Basham- been very good in the last few games I've seen
... So there's still hope that sammon might come good *crosses fingers*

I've been impressed with McEv recently, thought he was superb today.

Trouble is that's all it takes to convince everyone before he and his mates fail to produce consistently again......give it a few games and normal service will be resumed.

Highlight of the game was when he was sat on the turf and turned to the lino and said "he kicked me in the balls" in his distinctive Scottish-Scouse accent. Was clearly audible on the tele.

That was funny.:D

Edgar or Coutts were MOTM for me. But could easily be Basham, McEveley, Collins or Hammond. They were all that good.

He has done a couple of red mist tackles at home that could've resulted in Reds

And the thought of him seeing Ashley Youngs head in his sights, I would have thought would be unresistable

Luckily he wasnt in the Team

Finally looked like a good captain. Absolute brilliant performance, if he didn't go off early we may just of held on

just seen Jay Mceveley signed for tranmere today. can we have A minutes silence for Tranmeres Promotion hopes that died today

although for some reason they seem to think theyve signed bobby moore the way their going off. wow are they in for a huge surprise in coming months. he will still be out of his depth in national league/conference

Are you sure they signed him as a footballer? Might be a water carrier or kit man?

if as a footballer, then Rest In Peace - Tranmeres Promotion hopes - Your eulogy will be short and no one will give a fuck.

The name that still gives me shivers to this day

Tranmere are a graveyard for finished Scouse footballers who refuse to give up. thats Wallace, Higdon and Mceveley all in past 2 years. what odds are we getting on Baxter going to them in next few of years

Wish miss his stewardship.

In the same way you long for herpes.

He was utter crap and a total liability. In fact he was so bad at defending it was almost comical and has me shaking my head in disbelief and amusement.

Whilst shit though, at least the boy tried. Some of em couldn't give a toss that season but he did. I will give him that. Thank fuk he's not here now though.
