Good luck to him ,he was in my all time Blades team ,partnering TK kicking shit out of everything that moved as a centre half should.

For me this is a temporary move to allow Morgs to develop his coaching knowledge elsewhere. He'll be back, in one form or another, in the future. Hopefully that'll be due to him doing well elsewhere rather than this not working out.

Good luck Morgs. Some great memories, and had you not had terrible luck with the injury we'd probably not have dropped down to League 1.

I will never forget the pre season away friendly at Sparta Rotterdam where he was the only player who came over to the Blades fans after the game. I don't mean a wave or a thumbs up, I mean come over to chat. He was genuinely interested in saying thanks for coming, asking why we were being held back after the match, interested in how our day had been and gave the fans some of his real time.

Not something a lot of players will do and sums him up as a Blade who cares.

Good luck down there and bet you come back!

Good luck to ex blade Morgan . Hope he does well .
The only way Morgan would be back at the lane would be as a SUFC ambassador. If it was as manager we would be languishing still in league 1 or dropped in to league 2 .
We do not think of the temporary managers position he was thrust in to ( and failed ) with the sacking of Wilson , but think of him as a great player and club servant . Let's keep it that way IMO.

Best of luck to him. A club legend in every sense of the word and something of a rare breed in this day and age.

That said I think this is in the best interests of both parties, he was almost part of the club rather than the management team and at least he will be working with someone who wants him while Adkins will have a team complete with 'his' men. Win win all round.

Good luck Morgs and thanks for the memories.

Absolute legend.....personifies what it means to be a blade.
Good luck Chris......you deserve it mate.

Chris would be in charge of my club now if I could have it my way.

His grit, determination, no nonsense attitude. It's Warnock-esque and I absolutely love it.

True gent, and a nice guy away from the game too. One of the clubs greats for me.

Thanks for the loyalty and have a good career mate.

Thanks for everything Morgs and good luck.

good luck to morgs at Chesterfield i wish him all the best as he deserves it. But is a Double edge sword, because i will miss him with his passion he was best club captain ive seen & I dont think we ever managed to replace the leadership he brought on the pitch after he retired, For some reason unbeknown to me pinchy on similar thread thought that getting rid of that knowledge & passion was a good thing. Good job he's not at man utd sure he walk into the door & sack Ryan Giggs straight off, anyway I got sidetracked which I seem to do alot

back on subject I remember 3 things
the time he jumped for header & punched robin van persie got away with it. Brilliant.
the time when he apparently got treated fir concussion went off & came back on then headed away danger of free kick & then got subbed
The following game after danny wilsons sacking. The atmosphere v Swindon where we won 2-0 was great & feel the happiness & positivity

But he had to leave to further his career In my opinion as we wouldve been selfish as it could be said morgs club status as a recent legend held him back. Because I know I didnt want to give him manager job in case it went badly & we had to sack him

It was the club that was loyal to him.

Yep, Morgs is deffo up there in my all time favourite Blades. I'd have him kicking the shit out of everybody with Joe Shaw mopping up the blood with a bit of class.
Old git :)

Will Brian Deane step into the U21 role now?

Dont think I was in here at the time but he was my choice for utd manager before adkins was appointed because I was keeping an eye on his progress at sarpsborg & where he did agreat job

I liked TK but thought Colquhoun and Stancliffe were better than TK
Colquhoun would be my next in line ,but Stan nowhere near for me. McPhail ,Eddy ,Maguire ,Holdsworth ,Page, Beesley ,Mcgrath ,Gayle all before Stan ,he wasn't my cup of tea .

Good luck to a real Blades legend, and the right move for him if he now wants to progress.

Oh and Ignore Barny and his pathetic wumming

Good luck to him, I think it is the right move and right time for him if he wants to get into management, all the best and thanks for some great memories.

ps. please take De Juve with you

While I share your admiration of Morgan, all the qualities you list are those he held as a player and have very little impact on what he would be like as a manager.

No one has any idea what he'd be like as a manager, other than the short and unsuccessful stint as caretaker for us.

For those reasons I'm very pleased he was never given the reigns here but hope that when he proves himself that one day in the future he may be.

Morgs first game in charge as caretaker after David Weir was dismissed was 'away' at Coventry (Northampton). Not sure what influence Morgs had but it was the first game Connor Coady impressed and he continued with that form for the rest of the season.

Only a small point but it struck me that maybe Morgs possessed the necessary attributes to become a good manager.
