Opened the the thread hoping for an update on Burn. Saw one of the latest posts "and stinking of shit" and slumped in defeat that there is presumambly no update on Burn.
Sheffield United are continuing to monitor Dan Burn, The Star understands, as Nigel Adkins prepares to strengthen his squad.
But Bramall Lane’s hierarchy fear they could struggle to resurrect a deal for the defender after his parent club Fulham, having already shelved a proposed loan agreement, sacked manager Kit Symons earlier this month.
Burn was set to join United in September only for the move to break down when negotiations between officials at Craven Cottage and one of their own targets stalled just hours before the transfer deadline.
Adkins, whose side visit Walsall this weekend, is thought to have maintained an interest in the 23-year-old despite seeing him start five of the Londoners’ last six games.
Although Adkins has refused to divulge details of United’s recruitment strategy - “We’ll do our business in the proper manner, privately and behind the scenes” - he recently hinted its technical board is expecting to both buy and sell when the window reopens in January.
“Everyone wants to play, there’s a natural process,” Adkins said. “We are always striving to improve. But we also want competition for places. If we recruit then it’s not a case of just getting a body in.

Nigel Adkins eventually prised Dean Hammond away from Leicester City 2015 Sport Image all rights reserved
Adkins experienced similar difficulties attempting to prise Dean Hammond away from Leicester City but his protracted pursuit of the midfielder paid-off when he joined United on a temporary basis four weeks ago. Hammond, who previously worked with Adkins at Southampton, is expected to complete a permanent switch when his loan expires.
“Yes, it took a long time but it will be worth it,” Adkins said. “You can see, already, the benefits that Dean will bring. We were delighted to get it done. As always, people coming in have to be better than what we’ve got.”
The identity of Symons’ replacement will have a crucial bearing on whether Adkins enjoys similar success with Burn.
The former Yeovil Town and Darlington centre-half, who can also operate at full-back, asked for permission to join United after becoming frustrated by his lack of opportunities at first team level earlier this term before injuries to Shaun Hutchinson, Nikolay Bodurov and Ryan Fredericks provided an opening.

Looks like we are still in for him.
Or any of his signings for that matter. Some golden stuff there:
"You can see, already, the benefits that Dean will bring"
No you can't.
"People coming in have to be better than what we've got"
Unless they are called Martyn Woolford, it seems.
Higdon better than Sharp then?

May be worth noting that as Fulham have just been handed a Transfer Embargo, they cannot sign a player unless they sell one first. This might make them more inclined to sell if we offer a fair amount.
Is he not playing regularly for them? I thought they had a couple of injuries which meant they needed him.
Can you stop doing notes Liam, i prefer bullshit rumoursNo idea, it was just a note really

Give over now mate! Something is telling me in the back of my mind that we could pull this one off, then i'll be pulling something off.In that case... Dortmund have offered us Mats Hummels in exchange for the much coveted Neill Collins![]()

He's played the last 3.
Stuart Gray obviously rates him, let's hope the new manager doesn't.
An embargo would mean any player moving out is unlikely

According to wiki he has only played once this season for them.
That can't be right surely?
Dick Burn? I used to get that when I ran out of KYThink we're after his brother, Dick now...have we covered this already?
Collins can fook right offI'll get slated for this but do we need anyone now?
We seem very solid over that last 4 games or so and would disruption have a negative impact on the team performances? Who's to say that a new CB would deffo hit the ground running?
Edgar and Collins are working well together (at last)
Now where did I put that tin hat?
Sadly, I don't think that twat Collins will be gone in Jan, but any hopes of promotion will be gone with him stayingThink getting rid will be the priority makblade (fits in with SwissBlade 's wishes) and more reductions come summer as we begin to build. Hopefully we will be building a championship consolidation squad not a L1 promotion squad!
