A bit of fat to chew on

Trevor Birch is coming back isn't he? Once he's done with Bolton, which would fit the January time slot.

If this is the case, then why is NA talking to The Stir about how much he rates Hammond, his attitude he brings etc etc if he knows there's no chance of buying/getting another big wage earner on the books, we'd be looking at players in Scotland again on low wages.

I honestly believe we will offload a few and stregthen in January, hopefully starting with half the defence

'Big Changes and not necessarily in our favour.

In Fact it's going to screw us reyt and what we've got used to over the last 10 years will continue bit in a far worse state.

I wouldn't get comfy with your HOME seat either.....'

From a poster on BM who I talked to on Sunday at half time, on a thread called 'Radical changes at the Lane'. He's a sound bloke who knows quite a few people connected to the club and is quite involved himself. He's told me what he means by this, but I won't repeat what he said as it's not my place and I don't know the implications of repeating it.

All I'll say is that personally, I really really really can't see it happening. At least not to the extremity of his description.

Do you know he's still well connected or is that what you were told?

I don't know if he's connected directly, but he's very involved with the club and certainly has close friends who are connected.

After reading over my previous comments and going on what Blade56 has said, I think I'm going to shut the fuck up about it now. I can't/won't say owt and I reckon if someone was acting how I've acted on this thread, I'd probably think they were an attention seeker and a bit of a knob. I've no desire to be either.

Interesting! Hopefully the decisions people are making / made will be of the best interests for the club.

I don't want to push you for anymore information as I respect your decision of not wanting to say more. Just one question - in your opinion, would these decisions be the correct ones for the club?

So a merger or a shared stadium? Can't see it ever happening.

Julian Winter came back to finish off what he hadn't done previously (whatever the fuck that was).

You shouldn't joke about these things .........

That takes both parties to tango

Cannot see The Chancer agreeing to that, never mind both sets of fans and why bother renewing the planning consent to develop the kop if McCabe is selling up?

Chinese investors in town, wonder if they've been putting any ideas about the land the ground is on?

This is the only thing I can think of that might disrupt significantly.

Whenever McCabe's major construction opportunities / relationships touch the football club, construction prevails.

I do believe he'd look for trade-offs but they could go very wrong [or there is the possibility we get it right on the pitch]

The scenario could be sell the Lane for re-development and move to a cheaper site, in return for maybe a new partner willing to inject football funds.

I, for one, have watched United at the Lane for over 50 years. I would be very unhappy at the thought of moving. The price of staying could be continuation of the struggle to get out of League One, though.

One thing that would be guaranteed is general uproar.

It's never straightforward at this club, is it ?

Just seen who posted it on BM. Move on guys, nothing to see here

So are we looking at the next potential investor? Estimated worth of $1350m?

http://www.estatesgazette.com/silk-road-regions/

Seems cosy with mccab

Dated October 2015, but interesting extract nonetheless ...

"Among the deals was a joint venture between developer Scarborough Group International and Chinese conglomerate Xinjiang HuaLing Industry & Trade Group. The partners, the statement said, would “unlock three regeneration projects in Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield with a combined gross development value of £1.2bn”.

Hmmm

Amazing what you can find with a little digging on the interweb!

I can't see it myself but would welcome with open arms if true

Personally I like the prince and Phipps. I hate to think where we would have been without them but they simply don't have the capital to make a big enough difference

I've spoken to a few contacts now and we've got the wrong end of the stick.

However, the Xinjiang Blades will be launched shortly and are expected to compete in the Chinese Super League.

Hao Haidong has been installed as manager

There is a project mooted between Scarborough and the Chinese to build 200 new homes starting next year.
They could of course be sited on BL just as someone could have picked it up and, for whatever reason, decided that it definitely is the case, and posted it as FACT complete with McCabe knocking back story without having what's known as a fucking clue about the truth.

I have no idea about the costs of clearing the site nor the overall building costs but just to recover the book value ofvthe ground etc, before labour bricks mortar etc, each property would have value, unbuilt, of around £125k just for the plot alone.

Whats everyone reckon is the most likely ?

I find it very unlikely.

If the ground was bought and was to be redeveloped it would either be turned into high rise flats, office space or retail. Much more income to be earned. Also heard about the 200 houses I'm sure these will be else where.

Would however not be suprised to see the lane redeveloped

Nail on the head - It's home! It has memories of my grandad, uncle and dad (the odd game) taking me to the games as a kid. All that would be gone, a block of flats or whatever would pop up. If it was to happen then it wouldn't be for me. A lot of teams have had positive effects moving away but it wouldn't be right imo.

Absolutely fucking not. It'd be World War III.
Here we go again TJB, you can't drop a bombshell like that and leave us hanging. I could cope with a "no comment" but your response will ruin my frikin Christmas dinner worrying what's in store in January. You've gone to far with your reply. You are obviously in possession of information that is potentially dynamite (a rumour) you've baited the whole S2 board you're obligated to spill the beans. WTF is going off, are we leaving BDTBL?

Was simply answering a question. As I said, I don't want to run the risk of it all being a load of cobblers and me coming out of it looking like a shit stirrer or an attention seeker. I ain't that kind of poster.

If you really, really want to know. I'd be happy to share a private message.

Tom, you are by now a respected poster! You don't have to prove if your "rumours" are genuine. By the nature of your information being on the Rumours Boarad we accept it is what you have heard and may or may not by definition be true or false!.

But I really wanna know TJB and I will keep it to myself

B56, take up Toms PM offer, then tell us what he said, but put the disclaimer " I cannot and will not reveal my source" . :)

I would like to hear what the rumours are.
