For the first time in a long time, I had the oportunity and means to visit the Lane with no other options or distractions. Don't get me wrong I'm not an occasional visiter I have had a season ticket since the Bassett days but previously playing cricket or family things took preference at times.

Today nothing else to do but I simply cannot bring myself to drive across to Sheffield to see us play the giants of Shrewsbury. Like most, I have endured the last 5 years in this godforsaken league initially treating it as a brief sojourn to visit those less fortunate than us Blades.

This season however is the verge of breaking me. I was as giddy as a kid when Adkins got the job however in the space of just over 3 months my hope, nay expectation has been shattered and my enthusiasm of all things Blades related is withering.

Even worse, my 11 year old son, who should be itching to go yo every game, doesn't want to go and is not even bothered about renewing his season ticket.

I pray something remarkable happens over the next few months otherwise the club will suffer a dip in attendance and we will became marooned as a lower league side.

I have episodes where I'm extremely into the Blades and others where I'd rather do anything else.

I got offered a ticket for tonight but I declined so that I can lay in bed and watch x amount of episodes of y TV series with the lass whilst checking score updates every 20-45 minutes depending on the show.

Unfortunately the opportunity of supporting Man City or someone doesn't appeal and so I'm stuck, like many with being aa shitty wanker part time supporter.
