With J Wallace making a surprise comeback I figure we need to use him and try and get some moneys worth before he gets hurt in a shock dog walking accident. If Kennedy is fit enough then he should be starting too.

Howard
Freeman Basham Kennedy Harris
JCR Baxter Wallace Adams
Sharp Sammon

Subs:
Long
K Wallace
Collins
Henderson
Reed
Flynn
Done

I'd be surprised if Kennedy and Wallace manage two games in four days

Edgars in Canada for a couple of internationals but yeah get him back in once he's back.

I think playing either Kennedy or Wallace for a 2nd time in 5 days would probably finish them off so I'll go for

---------------------Howard

Freeman----Edgar-----Collins---K. Wallace

JCR---------Basham----Baxter-----Adams

----------------Sharp---Sammon

Subs:

Long
Harris
Reed
Hammond
Flynn
Done
Scougall

If Edgar's not 100% I'd drop Basham back and bring Hammond in.

We have few if any players in any kind form. JCR and K Wallace probably be about it, so personally I find it a shame for K Wallace to have lost his spot due to harris coming back. We need to become hard to beat so I would stick him on the left handside of midfield and move Adams up top. Although I don't want Basham in midfield I would have to stick him there for now.

Long
Freeman Edgar Kennedy Harris
JCR Basham Hammond K Wallace
Sharp Adams

Just why we are still fucking about with the same old problems for the last few years, I will never know.

I'd go for Howard and Long as GKs, only if we can get away with it, Freeman and Harris FBs, Collins and Basham CBs, a midfield containing Baxter, Coutts and Scoogs, with JCR, Sammon and Billy making up the attack.

Subs would be McGahey, Done, Adams, Flynn, J.Wallace, K.Wallace and Hammond.

I'd love to see our record when JCR and Sammon start together.

Must be the most disconnected i've ever been with a Sheffield United team. A lineup of crocks, clumsy mr blobby types and weekend millionaires.

Agree. Every week I see these threads and have a little think about what line up could possibly be the one to get us on a roll. Then I get bored and realise that it's just going to be like every other week, whoever plays. Summat's not reyt.

I understand that Edgar is off to play for Canada this next week

I'd play:

Long
Freeman - Collins - Basham - Harris
JCR - Hammond - Done
Baxter
Sammon - Sharp

3-5-2/5-3-2/3-5-1-1/5-3-1-1 whatever...

You look like you're ready for the release of Football manager 2016

Really? Is that the prime formation now?

I got quite bored with it but I've had a couple of goes recently and still used 3412, which was always a winner in older versions.

Should I be using 33211?

Or as NA would say '133211'.

We need some more red cards and another player that is usually injured so it's worth getting him back.

My prediction is that some overpaid, useless dickheads will play. That's how much I care about our players.

4-2-3-1 asymmetrical with inverted wing backs etc...who says football needs to be complicated :eek:

Based on statistical analysis of league games played so far (percentage of points gained per league games started) the optimal team for Saturday is (excluding Alcock who has a 100% record but has been loaned out) :

.................. Howard
Freeman...Edgar.....McEveley.....K Wallace
..............Baxter.......Basham........
....................Scougall.............
.......Sharp.....................Adams
.................Sammon.........

Interestingly we have not lost a league game that Scougall has started

As Edgar is away the next best on the list is Collins.

The full list :

Long 0.00
Howard 0.53
Freeman 0.50
Basham 0.50
Murphy 0.00
Sharp 0.50
Baxter 0.53
Collins 0.47
Woolford 0.08
McEveley 0.59
McFadzean 0.00
Adams 0.63
Sammon 0.59
Scougall 0.83
Edgar 0.57
Campbell-Ryce 0.48
Wallace K 0.52
Reed 0.42
McNulty 0.33
Flynn 0.33
Coutts 0.47
Alcock 1.00
Done 0.47
McGahey 0.44
Hammond 0.33
Harris 0.00

Inverted wing backs? And which bit of the 4231 is asymmetrical?

Scary thing is, I though this was our best 11 (baring the Beard)

------------------------Howard
Freeman------Basham--Collins----Harris

------------------Coutts---Hammond
------------------------Baxter

Adams-----------------------------------Done
------------------------Sharp

But that was pretty much the team that lost at Crewe :(

I don't think it matters who plays, we're just shit.
