My statement was more in terms of the loan situation. How can you be starting to look at who we can loan out. Firstly, this should have happened at the start of the loan window. Second, it;s pretty simple. Who is fit? Who won't get on the bench. Hey bloody presto.

Managing a football squad has to be about weighing up the strengths and weaknesses in all areas, relative to the systems you want to play in games. It's about first choices and cover. It's about building in some development of younger players too.

When the manager joined the club he had Coutts, Brayford, Kennedy, Harris and Wallace on long term injured. Done soon joined the sick list.

They are all players you don't replace immediately because when they return they are good value. Therefore you have another look and decide which players can get you through that period before those players return.

Signing a loan player costs money but also disrupts the squad. When the loanee arrives he is often short of match practice.

Only when the injuries abate can the manager do exactly what he has intended to do all along. When Brayford and Harris are fit the back 4 will look different and there will be less pressure on the central defenders.

When Hammond is into his stride we will take off. Basham will be in central defence probably, brayford marauding down the right, Harris down the left, Done up front with Sharp - almost orgasmic!!

I don't like how Collins is positioning himself in the last year of his contract, re signing this player would rubber stamp our intentions to tread water for the foreseeable future, signing player like him began this slide...

He seems to think he that he is a regular and that it's down to who partners him at the back. When most of us are thinking of who will replace him.

Player will not hit the ground running, it will take a period of time to get full fitness and gel ,Done and Coutts are finding this now and it has to be expected of the others. we will be a much stronger side after Xmas.

That's about the long and short of it. Until the injured players come back and are given games NA doesn't know his best first team. Until he knows that and who to keep as back up, he won't know who to loan out, apart from obvious fringe players like McFadzean.

At last we agree. No need for bullet points either!

Some decent points there WWF that are too often overlooked. People will say “If he’d acted sooner…” to criticise him but are quick to acknowledge that if he’d acted sooner, he wouldn’t have realised what a good deputy Wallace could be in Harris’ absence. We wouldn’t have seen the bits of improvement we have from Alcock and Coutts. It doesn’t work for all players as we’ve seen McEveley is still poor, Scougall is still too weak and Wallace and Kennedy are still crocks.

But how can people have a go at him for not getting people out on loan. It’s the end of October and so far we’ve loaned out

Banton

Brooks

Hamilton

McDonagh

Higdon

Calvert Lewin

And we’re looking to get more out now our injury crisis has eased. I reckon we’ll see 2 or 3 of the following move on loan shortly:-

Willis

Whiteman

Phillips

McFadzean

Dimaio

De Girolamo

Wright

Coustrain

Cockerline

McNulty

Alcock

Reed

Scougall

Khan

Khan's reportedly off on loan to Barrow. Good move from him, to the Conference (or National League) - a step up from his previous loan spells.

Agree with that apart from Alcock who I'd keep until both Bob and the Beard are fully fit.
