How Was It?

It was very similar to the Fleetwood performance, just against a better and smarter side.

Playing as we are we're a upper mid table to 5th/6th place side. Hoping sides like Gillingham and Walsall dip in form is pointless as unless things change fast we'll be too far behind them for it to matter.
Usually agree with you but not so much today.

I think we were better than that and for me the performance today was a lot better than Tuesday night. Just lacked goals.

Still a lot of room for improvement with regards movement and pace but IMO, can't really say that anyone had a bad game [other than the officials who were very poor].

Maybe an element of frustration in my post but I never felt we were going to win today.

At 1-0 I thought we'd equalise but fully expected them to score again. Going forward we look good at times but we have 4 defenders playing and none of them seem competent enough at their primary job of defending.

It doesn't help that we make no effort to stop crosses, put enough in and eventually you are going to score.

The pressure really is on the forwards knowing more often than not we're going to let in 1 or 2 at the other end most games.

In addendum, JCR was very good. Collins missed a few headers at attacking set pieces. Che hit the post.

Referee and linesmen were absolutely shocking. Millwall were good off the ball, pressed a lot in the second half and were very physical. Hammond helps us mix it but I actually think Basham is lightweight in centre midfield.

Overall I thought a point would have been unlucky. Looking forward to a clear out this summer whatever happens; we need it.
Collins didn't miss any headers at the back and today and I'm very sad to say, that's as much as Che did.

Thought Baxter did well. Basham isn't the answer in centre midfield for me but can understand that Adkins was trying to combat Millwall's physicality.

Yes Baxter did well when he came on at half time. I thought we werent great first half, and better second half (Hammond improved, Billy was more involved). We lost because we cant defend properly, and we have a poor keeper.

As an aside the ref was a joke and bottled a straight red late when one of our guys (think it was Baxter) copped a hand in the face after a foul.

Also SYP seem to now be pulling in reinforcements from Leicester, think the Millwall fans each had their own personal dibble today

Think you are thinking of the incident with Che Adams and yes, it was hand to face and not even a telling off.

Campbell-Ryce was very good today so naturally he got hauled off. I tell you, if he'd put in the performance that Done managed today then my ears would still be ringing with the abuse hurled at him. As it was, everyone was suspiciously quite when golden boy Done lost the ball yet again or spanked it across the pitch over Sharp's head so he didn't have to run. Not sure if it's fitness with Done or as someone suggested he doesn't like the current set-up, but he has been very poor in the last two games yet Campbell-Ryce has got all the flack.

Also, does anyone know if Coutts had a flair up or something? To not get a look in today after the performance he had on Tuesday beggars belief.

1 shot on target at home in 90 mins, that's the problem

Although to be fair I think Basham's shot form Campbell-Ryce's pullback was on target. For some reason blocked shots seem not to be counted.

The point I'm making m8 is that their goalie had very little/nothing to do for the whole match
A few times we got into good positions and instead of shooting took another touch or tried to pass it

I thought that after the performance v Fleetwood, today we played some great football, quick incisive movement and crisp passing. Adams should have scored after a great ball from Sharp, but only managed to hit the post with the goal gaping. Their goal came against the run of play after Adams stood and watched their player clip a ball to the far post. Even then I thought we saw out the first half as the better team. We created shooting opportunities but no one was keen to take on the responsibility, worst of all being Done, who faced with a ball rolling straight onto his left foot at the corner of the six yard box, inexplicably turned away with it instead of shooting?
After pulling the goal back second half with a good finish I thought we were the more likely team to go on and win it, The second Millwall goal, as I saw it, came about after Collins lost his man and he was free to slide a ball across goal, their player slid in with Wallace? but rather than put it in, he misdirected it very weakly back toward Howard who in his haste to get back across the goal, contrived to twat it into his own net. Why, only he will know?

I just think it was one of those days, the result was written in the stars and not helped by kicking toward the Kop first half........which is never a good omen :(
