On paper Sharp, Done and Adams are 3 talented players with plety of goals in them, but I've seen enough to know this isn't going to work as an attacking combination. We need a target man, and in the absence of anyone else that roll should fall to Sammon. While Done is struggling to find form I'd bench him. We all know there are problems in defence but we shouldn't let that blind us to our attacking frailties.

Hammond & Basham isn't going to work as a midfield pairing either, I think Baxter has to start at the moment alongside either one, and given the hype I think we have to give Hammond a chance and give Basham a place in central defence.

Line-up for next match:

Howard
Freeman Basham Collins K.Wallace
JCR Hammond Baxter Adams
Sharp Sammon

We're top scorers beacuse we put 3 past Fleetwood who are one of the worst teams I've ever seen.

Are you not more concerned with our average-at-best central defence and our flippy flappy goalkeeper than an attack that has drawn a blank only once (that being away at the league leaders) in the 14 league games since Gillingham?

I get what the op is saying but there are far more pressing matters. Just take a look at that back 5 , pretend you arent a United fan and try not to laugh

I'm very concerned by it, but we've talked it to death and in doing so we seem to not paying attention to whats happening at the other end of the pitch. However well we're doing, we must always ask "can we do better?" and honestly we can do better in attack. We will be massively improved with a target man.

We were doing fine until we brought Hammond in and reverted to a zero creativity midfield. Start Baxter instead of Done and it's fine.

That said, agree that Sammon would lead the line better and was delighted to see him coming on. Until Adkins yanks JCR instead of Billy, who just prior seemed quite content to idle in the centre circle watch their keeper loiter on the edge of the box in open play

Agree Sammon would benefit from playing alongside JCR. No point having JCR crossing to those midgets.

Adams should be wide and Sammon or Done down the middle ,Basham should be centre back and Collins should take up a different hobby. Adkins management and substitutions were poor today.

Bar the sitters we missed against Oldham, scoring is not really the problem. The problem is the same as last season....poor defending and a poor keeper who costs us points.

Target man you cry for eh.

How's about bringing Higdon back ?

Darius Henderson is bench warming at Scunthorpe. How about him ?

As has been said, our forwards are the least of our problems at this point.

Wowzers. This time last year if someone had told you that in twelve months time we'd have Collins and McGahey at centre half you'd have laughed at them.

The reason we're not challenging the top two and haven't for a long time is because we cannot defend and therefore cannot win ugly. Millwall offered very little up front today but scored twice. This was a 1-0 or 1-1 tossed away, yet again.

Just seen that Calvert-Lewin's scored again - maybe he'll be another option in the New Year?

Nah, we're OK. I quite enjoy watching the ball bounce off Conor Sammon.
