Players playing at a level well below their capabilities. Let's build on their strengths and dominate this league.

Such as Done, Adams, Freeman, Baxter, Reed, Sammon, Edgar, Basham ( at the back) all have plenty in hand at this level.

Plenty of others to complement the above.

Up to the manager to find the right blend of players but the 4 in the title should be the first names on the team-sheet. By the time Brayford plays for the first team we will have completed our "pre-season" and we can lift off from there. We should be so dominant it could become embarrassing.

"We should be dominating" is pretty much our mantra from the 5 years we've been in this league.

Alongside "This could become embarrassing" of course.

Sharp - Now a very good League one performer but would probably struggle in the championship
Coutts - Not a chance he could cut it at championship level
Brayford - Could easily play in the championship, but fullbacks don't win you promotion
Hammond - I hope you are right - let's see.

With Done and Adams up front we've got goals in us
We hadn't got one above average league one midfielder at the club, until Hammond arrived.
We are well covered at fullback
We haven't got one above average league one centre half at the club, though the jury is still out on Edgar (started well, faded, too few games).

Perhaps Basham can fill the centre half role, otherwise that should be the next move.

Thankfully the division is poor. We may have enough.

Gloomy note alert: Will the Beard return to the same level?

Had this thought on the way back with WHF Jr Sr:
  • The medical team do all they can to fix the problem - it then needs real world testing
  • It breaks down in testing
  • Back to the medical team
  • What do you want us to do? We've done everything we can to repair the problem - it wasn't enough
No idea if that's likely but it's plausible :(

Coutts has suddenly become a world beater after 30 minutes of football.

I think it is more about his strength and fitness and even his attitude.

In the last game it was much easier to play when he came on and the real tests will be against strong pressing teams. I think he's ready and will respond to Hammond's presence. Valid point though.

A few songs do.

Heard 'em sing "Super Che-ey Adams" last night. It doesn't even fit!

Never managed to come up with a song before and this is probably why but here goes!

There was a man from Ilkeston called Che, called Che
There was a man from Ilkeston called Che, called Che
He scored a goal and that was it, the Shoreham Street they had a fit
Che Adams, United's 29.

I'm sure we sang this for another player many years ago.

I never understood why Jose Baxter Baby! Jose Baxter whoooooaaahh! (Human League - Don't you want me) never continued. That was a cracker for for the 1 match it lasted! :)

And JCR after being a world beater last week is now a park player.

I cringe every time i see those abbreviated letters. I really can't get to like the guy. Gifted he is yes. End product - No.

Both of these videos show him at his best. In both videos he ends up playing a short pass which finds a man. If he tries a proper cross, we're f***ked.

There was a version of this about John Tudor.
He played for Sheffield United before I was born.
As far as I'm aware has never been sung since.
I'm 45 :D

Football is about entertainment ,JCR entertains me.

Coutts is a decent player at this level and would probably compete in the Championship JCR is a good third division player that is why he has always played at this level - if he could cross he wouldn't be playing at this level !

What tune are we singing this to? do you think the lads at the back of the cop will keep up?
