I'm not glad we've stuck by them. They have been complete wastes of money in wages. Obviously thats with the gift of hindsight, but it doesnt make me happy we've spent thousands of pounds on two blokes who have done nothing since they have been here.

I don't think anybody is happy with the fact we've used good wage budget on effectively two players that have done nothing for us, but I don't agree with the heartless anger directed at them

"Any club that has been relegated to League 1 having exceeded the £6m limit will not be subject to a transfer embargo but will be required to comply with the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) regulations in place in that division. These rules require League 1 clubs to limit their spending on players’ wages to 60% of turnover plus 100% of Football Fortune income (e.g. financial donations, transfer income, revenue from cup matches), with a club relegated from the Championship being able to operate at 75% of turnover for a transitional period of one season.

So here's the conundrum for a few people.

We have to budget each year and put our budget to the Football League. From there, we can determine how much we can spend on players wages. So to make things simple here goes:

• The club have budget at 19,000 average attendance (lets just suppose) - this equates to around £6m per year in revenue
• You cannot budget for cup runs
• Lets assume we get £1m in commercials and TV money (it is probably less than that but let runs with it)
• The owners inject £5m
• Therefore our total revenue is £12m
• Thats means our wage budget can be £7.2 m per year
• Which equate to £138,000 per week.
• You need a squad of 20 - so your AVERAGE wage is £6,900 per week
• Remember this figure has to include NI costs, pensions etc so you will need to allow around 15-20%
• So you base wage is £5K per week.
• That is average.

How many players that fall within FFP do we have now?
How do we add to that and keep within FFP?
How do we pay players off and still keep within FFP?

Correct.

We can put as much as we want in but only spend 60% on players.

We then spend the remaining 40% but that must go on infrastructure and as we've done the pitch and the ground holds 30K+ and the academy is Ok that just leaves those fish that Leeds had left.

No wonder we can't spend.
