But I do lead the market…
The one that’s highly toxic?

isnt there recruitment model. all best players go to udinese & all the players not good enough for them go to WatfordWatford are fairly unique in their management recruitment model though
And not in a good way…
So they get Udinese’s sloppy seconds?isnt there recruitment model. all best players go to udinese & all the players not good enough for them go to Watford
if pozzo family still own watford yes. & they looked like sloppy secondsSo they get Udinese’s sloppy seconds?
Nice…
I said to the Mrs. after an hour that you could walk in the park on a Sunday morning and see games played at a similar standard to that game today. We had a bit more energy and one or two ran about a bit and got some tackles in. We were better with and without the ball against a team that I honestly think would be lucky to get a draw at Stocksbridge Park Steels. I'll take the win all day long but fuck me Watford were crap. Imagine coming all that way to see that, all the time knowing that when the final whistle blows you have to go back to one of the biggest shit holes on earth. Watford, what's the point?
It’s comforting to know we are not the only club who are run by non footballing owners to sack a manager who has guided them to a respectable position in the league is unreal probably not as bad sacking a manager who has taken his side to a play off final
Burnley and Sunderland had no more money than us and both went up. You are one dimensional, we all get that u hate DoFs but if you cant see that having a long term strategy helps thenMoney, money and more money.
That’s the way it works.
If you can’t spot that and still think the appointment of one man with ultimate powers delivers all that, then![]()
You misrepresent me.Burnley and Sunderland had no more money than us and both went up. You are one dimensional, we all get that u hate DoFs but if you cant see that having a long term strategy helps then
Of course a DoF is no guarantee but lets keep swimming against the tide as this current approach is working really well.
Agree with absolutely everything you say there. When u look at the ' managerial infrastructure' of other teams it is so much deeper. Many are run like a public company with set roles filled by experienced people. At the Lane it seems like Bettis, Wilder and one man and his dog. As u say its been like that for years and its the same over the road except they are just one man. Is it a Sheffield thing? Is it a monetary thing in that our owners have never wanted to pay the money needed to deepen the senior management team? Whatever it clearly isnt working and at some point surely it will have to change otherwise we will keep on stumbling forward hpping we have a manager and academy that will miraculously find a formula for long term success. You misrepresent me.
I have no particular aversion to a DoF, as long as the other infrastructure is in place.
I don’t agree with others that say we should get a DoF in regardless since that’s the start of the journey. All that does is shift a single point of focus from one place to another. It offers a role with all the responsibility but limited authority (as the big decisions are board decisions) and provides as limited powers as a head coach role.
The owners need to have a plan, fund it, and be getting the infrastructure in place before any thought of a DoF - If not, their naïveté will lead to that person being set up for a miserable failure just like they did for SeLLLLLLLes.
The Bettis interview confirmed that the Dore site will not be developed without Premier League money. It appears that they are looking to gain promotion first, before sanctioning any real investment behind the first team. That’s their prerogative but it also means that any thought of a DoF coming in and being successful with both hands tied behind his back is ridiculous.
I’d like to add that if you’ve seen the post from Roygbiv related to the structure at Sunderland, it was miles away from what the Blades have in place. Blades are run on a very lean basis. They have nothing like the back room that those clubs you cited have.
