That we are not paying well and still in the play off places and only 4 points of automatic.
If we can start to put things together and take our chances we can get promoted.
But we do need to sort out a centre back and a good midfielder urgently. Our midfield tends to get overrun too easily. And although there is talent there, it only comes out about as often as my willy.
So cmon Nigel and the Board, get things sorted.

I too think we`ll get there but not without a few crappy games along the way. What we need is another winning streak starting against Fleetwood on Tuesday night.

I think we'll always be in the frame for promotion this season! Bit of strengthening here and there, keep plugging away, it'll all come good in the end, you wait and see.
Always look on the bright side of life de de de de de de de de

Our big problem is , patience
our fans can blatantly see our weaknesses and the perception is we arent moving fast enough to address it.
The real problem is the dearth of sufficiently talented enough replacements in the open market, Available to sign immediately
I dont doubt you could come up witha few names on the market, but do they fulfil our needs
I see other center backs at league one level Id take but they are all integral parts of their teams and would be difficult to even be allowed to approach
Its easy to see a problem position , filling it to our best advantage is proving a shade difficult,
clubs at our level have a bare boned squad of 16 /17 out of a full squad thats good enough to even look at
and that 1 in each position with a couple of extras
so do the other clubs
prizing 1 of those away gets harder every season

Seriously cannot see Gillingham, Walsall, Bury or Burton finishing above United. They will fade, don't worry.

I do think we should start to worry about Wigan and Coventry. The top 3 this season will be Us and those 2. Not sure which order.

Why can't you see all those teams continuing their good form? Surely it's more unlikely for multiple teams all to fade?

So we'll be in the P***-o***. What's the problem?

Why do people always say this? What is the reason for it? People kept saying it about Bristol for no reason too. I personally wont be surprised in the slightest if they all finish above us. Gillingham seem a better team than us, simple as that.

Agree . The statement is based on how Orient and Tranmere had a loss of form , injuries , suspensions and from a flying start had a damp squid finish . We play on the pretence that with having a big squad we will overcome all of the above . Bit of a myth , as we have a number of long term injuries , players we cannot rely upon , inconsistant players and a unbalanced squad . Points on the board is all that counts , and we are now and in the future , no better off than any other team in this league.

It would help if we came up with a formula were opposing clubs stopped appearing to enjoy playing against us.

I said it when Orient topped the league. I said it when Tranmere topped the league that both wouldn't go up.

What I see with those mentioned are genuine play off contenders but they don't have the strength in depth or a decent pitch. Come winter, they'll all start finding out how good they are.

See my comment above.

Bristol were quality, no two ways about that. As were wolves.

Top 3 will be us, Coventry and Wigan.

Where are all or foreign bargains after years of collaboration with clubs around the world and a new scouting network that goes beyond Clough's brothers paper rounds?

Orient and Tranmere dropped off and we still didn't trouble the top 2, what makes you think it would be different this year?

Based on budget and probably the bookies at the start of the season that top 3 appears possible, however you need to build in our inability to learn from past mistakes and tendency to be a very average league one side to the equation.

We'll finish top 8 though, might push for top 2 if Jimbob stops indulging fans Twitter and cranks up the fax machine.
