No said Adkins, since when has done nothing to address this. So therefore by the gaffers own admission we aren't good enough mid October. Scandalous.

Not doubting you, but where's he said that?No said Adkins, since when has done nothing to address this. So therefore by the gaffers own admission we aren't good enough mid October. Scandalous.

No. They'd get sent off every game they played as you can't tackle anymore without giving away a free kick. That's come from the Premiership and the small, skilful players whinging if they get knocked off kilter and it has rippled down the leagues.I was reading an article on Trevor hockey, the way he used to run the midfield and the crunching tackles he made, also was a playmaker, and a great defensive midfielder, do we not breed them like that anymore, imagine having a player with his attitude in our midfield today, we need someone with guts and passion but I guess today's game is to soft.
Yes but adkins needs to actually play mcnulty best finisher at the club. And start using Terry Kennedy and get it in to playets heads like ryce we don't want yto see 30 seconds of skill we want 10 seconds of running down the wong and actually putting a cross in. And make people like baxter realise they can actually try a shot from edge of box instead of trying to walk it in

I do wonder if most of the current squad has the mental attitude to get promoted. It would be interesting to see if any of them have been involved in promotion winning sides and therefore know what it takes - I suspect not.
Bergen's Oldham match analysis was interesting. We started with Basham as the holding midfielder - now I think he should be well suited to that role with his attributes - however it obviously didn't work and we put Baxter there and improved. That for me is a worry and I think it further highlights the need for us to sign a midfield leader. It's such a shame that James Wallace is injured as I think that is a role he could play.
I can now think of Billy and Woolford when they were at Scunny with Adkins!

The failure to address a problem he identified, is just as shameful as telling the fans one thing and doing the other.
been waiting for that for a while nowJust watch the "mental attitude" change when we put a few results together. Once that happens we will leave the pack. In a promotion season average players start to look like world beaters.
Basham lacks the awareness and discipline to hold his position and influence others. He is a bit like a "headless chicken" and very unsure in his role in midfield, whereas he is composed and authoritative at the back.
Instead of running down the Wong, I'd like to Ryce start cutting inside and playing passes.

Note: away from the doom and gloom on here SUFC are still favourites for promotion.
