Just wanted to single him out for an outstanding performance in the first half today. Defensively he was excellent defending from the front and committing to tackles. Going forward he tried to beat his man and played some excellent balls into the channels for Billy. Yes he did ply backwards a few times but it has been noted previously we do need more of the ball. It was unfortunate he had to go off but his effort and guile were both excellent. Fortunately for us Freeman came on at HT and was also excellent.

I hold my hands up, I wrote him off months ago as dead wood. Thought he was excellent today. I love being proven wrong.

MoM performance first half. Plenty of great forward passes, not just down the line, good link up with Coutts (set him free for the second) and a good assist. And solid defensively.

Wallace did well on the other side too. Utterly spoiled for full backs we are.

Sounds like a different player from what I heard today (and saw in the Bradford game). Maybe some decent coaching is paying off ??

He did well when he came on second half against Bradford and repeated it again today. He gives us an energy and dynamic that has been missing from both full back positions this season, something the beard gives us.

For me, it's the full back positions that have been causing much of our predictable play in a number of games this season. Lack of dynamism down the flanks, thus limiting our options, which creates a predictable pattern of play.

Alcock with all his limitations at least has given us a glimpse of what has been missing and what can be achieved with two attack minded full backs

Well it was easily his best performance in a Blades shirt, and the same for Coutts and K. Wallace.

However before we can judge if all three have now turned some sort of corner for United then we need to judge them over a period of games.

Thought Alcock was good, however Wallace was better on the other side.

Edgar I am starting to scratch my head at some of his decision making

Alcock was excellent made all the better with an unbelievable performance by Coutts. Could never see why we bought Coutts last season and would have been please to see him leave until today he was head and shoulders above the rest of out MF and just won mom from a solid CH performance from Cillons who did not put a foot wrong today.

I thought Alcock was solid against Bradford and built on that today. Also a mention to Wallace on the other side, he was just as good if not better. Hopefully both can keep it up.

I do think it was harsh dropping freeman though.

Alcock was fantastic, especially that cross for the 1st goal to set up Basham. Which is strange because our corners crosses normally hit 1st man

Like so many, he came to the club with a decent reputation and it hasn't worked. You never know, if he could get some form and confidence he can play a part this season
