  • Should've won both games but, that said, the stats don't matter, the result does
  • Have to focus on next game bc that's the one we can affect
  • Looked at all the goals [obviously], things to work on
  • Strong throughout on consistency and camaraderie
  • Trying to win, not just draw, leaves us vulnerable
  • Players need to feel 10ft tall when they go out on the pitch [harder for some than others :)]
  • Billy taking next penalty
  • Important he doesn't feel he [Billy] has to shoulder the blame for Tuesday: it's collective
  • Information might be hard to get on to the pitch on Sunday bc of noise [a strange one that]
  • 24 players trained
  • Done, Brayford joining in, but not ready till October
  • Kennedy pulling out of u21s [and WHF Jr Sr's former teammate getting a game instead] was very precautionary and he's trained full on.
  • Burn and Hammond - non-committal but made the general point that if private conversations become public then that can jeopardise deals

24 players injured!? Christ, how can there be that many? That's more than we have fully fit. Blessing in disguise at the moment that the squad is so huge even though it is holding us back due to FFP at the same time. Who is every injured player?

And importantly with regards his recovery from the last injury, it was a problem with his groin rather than anything with the knees.

Great to hear Brayford's back with the lads training...but back in October!?!?

Surely shome mistake!?!???

Saying Sharp will be taking the next penalty smacks of favouritism we can all see he is bobbins at taking pens, there are better penalty takers than Billy at the club Adkins should pick the best one for the job. As poor a decision as making J Mac captain what with that and the bladecoaster crap I'm beginning to wonder if Adkins is losing the plot. :(

We have a few players currently with a problem in the groin ....... its called a lack of balls !!
UTB & FTP

Disagree. The players reacted strongly to going two down. So did some of the crowd, possibly/hopefully in reaction to the negativity around them.

I'm thinking of the bit where we conceded two before we decided that it wasn't a friendly match and the Bury game as well .......

(Sorry. Really couldn't resist.)

Bobbins? Since rejoining us he's had 4 penalties for us, and 1 has been saved. The first attempt on Tuesday's first penalty clearly doesn't count. He's been a penalty taker at virtually every club he's been at. This isn't Adkins favouritism – the only other obvious candidate is Baxter, and I'm not convinced he should even be in the team at the minute.

Burn, Hammond, Brayford, Done and maybe even Wallace or Kennedy for October? That's a brand new spine of the team.
I've decided to miss the glass half full stage and go straight for the glass overflowing part.
Being negative has got me nowhere so far.

Good interview from the Admeister tbf. He does get what the club's about - the passion, the intensity, the being starved of success. No complaints about negativity from fans, all about being pleased about the energy that's there, & using & channelling it.

Marchons! On to Bradford...

Quite right Alf, compared to the football that was being served up last term we're getting, at least in part, exactly what we asked for. Now all Adkins has to do is buy some sealant, apply it where needed, and with 3or 4 more additions we should be in good shape.

I guess the news about Burn has made you spit some out

Only just found out mate.
The old me would be fuming that we waited so long and let this happen,
The new me thinks it was out of our hands and injuries happen.
Personally I'd get in the kids ear, does he want to play as cover for 2-3 weeks then be third choice for the rest of the season or does he want to push the move through and become a starter straight way?

A mate of mine met Brayford last weekend, and he told him he would be back playing in 4 weeks.

Four weeks? How come Wallace takes a year?

and Coutts

what about Done?

Seriously if Brayford is back in four weeks time that's a great effort from the man and the support team.

Burn, a starter?
A twisted fire starter?

Gives us a 50/50 chance of scoring next penalty Metal.

But ultimately Lougboro, who is the better penalty taker of the two ?. Baxter for me, and I'm saying that as more of a fan of Billy.

Is he? Didn't Baxter miss one last season too? He's been mostly reliable, but not quite up to pin-point Ports precision levels. I don't think there's much in it tbh – as I've already said, Sharp has been a consistent penalty taker everywhere he's been.

On another day that penalty would have stood as a miss all day long, there's no getting away from that. I've been watching football for a fair amount of time and it's rare I see such a decision from a ref with a penalty and it's hard to believe no other keepers do what Colchester's did on a regular basis.

Doesn't erase either the fact it was a terrible pen, with little accuracy and pace. Compare it with Baxter's penalties from last season and I just can't understand why Adkins has made another wavering decision to add to the collection of making McEveley captain and talking some bollocks about Bladeacoasters after successive home defeats.

Why not just admit it, you think Adkins is a useless cunt and should be sacked?
