Would prefer to play 4-4-2 but Sammon seem's to have lost his ability to score and McNulty is good to have on the bench as an extra option. J.Wallace probably won't be fit anyway so my team is highly unlikely. McEverly has had his chance, Collins is sh*te and Basham isn't producing the goods in centre midfield. JCR seems to be burning out so I think Flynn is the better option for Sunday.

Baxter is a luxury but is one of the few players we have that can pass a ball. He needs his own role where he doesn't rely on marking anyone.

I like the idea of Sharp and McNulty, mainly because as you say Sharp has impressed with his work ethic, dropping wide and laying the ball off. Strangely on Tuesday we lumped it to Billy rather than Sammon in the 2nd half. Then again, Sammon won nothing in the 1st but can't imagine it was tactical. McNulty can also pull wide, see Tuesday and free up Che. We need to be more fluent however with a poor midfield 2 we can't.
Yeah I'd go with sharp and McNulty at home. Neither have bundles of pace but they're intelligent players as you say.

Sammon, I thought, looked decent first half but we soon got desperate and he was a waste of a shirt later in the first half. Keep him for physical battles.

Could someone tell me what the fuck Scougall has done to warrant a 1st team place?

Same as Collins, McEverley, Baxter, JCR and Basham (in midfield)

A bit unfair on JCR - has consistantly looked one of our better players - yes we know the one about him beating three men twice and then putting in a rubbish cross - if he could cross well he wouldn't be plying his trade in the Third Division !

24 players involved in training this week according to Adkins – the likes of Coutts and Kennedy starting to get more involved, with Done and Brayford set to return to training in October. Having all 4 back in the team would make us look a very different proposition to the current XI.

Pugh,
Pugh,
Barney
McGrew,
Cuthbert,
Dibble
Grubb.
Windy Miller
Andy pandy
Flower pot men
Bag puss

As you can see I'm going to let NA pick a winning team as I have no idea if the team above will turn up;)

ZERO assists unfortunately from our best player who is a winger.

A midfield 3 of Baxter, Scougall & Reed would scare the hell out of me.

We could win the game with a midfield of Baxter, Reed and Scougal ........ Bradford would be pissing themselves laughing so much that we were soooo stupid to include three ineffective midfield players that billy would score a double hat trick !!
UTB & FTP

They'd be occupied by using Scougal for their dwarf throwing contest again.

Like that team, looks like it'd be a good balance in midfield but, like you say, not much chance of it happening at the moment..

I wonder if it would be worth giving 5-3-2/3-5-2 a go?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Howard
- - - - - - Collins - - - Edgar - -- - McEveley
Flynn - - - Basham - Baxter - - Scougall - - -Freeman
- - - - - - - - - - - - Sharp - - - Adams/McNulty/Sammon

Subs: Long, Alcock, K Wallace, Woolford, JCR, 2 of Adams/McNulty/Sammon

Could work well or could be a complete f'ing disaster!!

I'd go for a 4-1-2-1-2

Flynn----------------------------Adams

Even though we have conceded 6 in 2 I don't think the back four aren't too much at blame. I also think Baxter will excel just behind the two up top playing balls through and also providing an extra option for sammon to knock the ball down to him if we play the long ball.

I don't think we can start a game with JCR and Che in the side they are both far too attacking and I think Wallace is better defensively than freeman.

If we go behind or are pushing for the win Flynn could come off for JCR or of Adams is tiring we can swap both wide players for JCR and Woolford (:/).

That looks an awfully weak midfield and what's with 4-3-3?

4-3-3 suits our current players better. No doubt about it.
Basham, Baxter and Reed are all better suited to a 3 man midfield.
It would suit a returning Adams better too as it relieves him of some of his defensive duties and gives him the freedom to attack.
Keep Freeman at left back with Flynn and ultimately Brayford replacing Alcock once fit.

Yeah I don't disagree with 4-3-3/ 4-5-1 either, as you say it suits our players better. when we've played sides that play 4-3-3 we've struggled with our 4-4-2, not necessarily because of the formation but because we're quite inflexible to adapt.

My query was because so many people questioned why we weren't playing 4-4-2 in the last couple of years
