For those who couldn't understand

We're waiting so we have players for December. Apparently you get more points for those games.

I've never understood the rationale behind this tbh. Especially when we'll have players back from injury by then.

I think you saw today what happens when you have proper football men working behind the scenes. Bury have four Man Utd legends more or less working as unpaid directors of football using their contacts to get players like Clarke, Pope etc to fill roles that need filling in a team, we have The McCabes and Jim Phipps.

It's not only the defence, none of the team were good enough today.

Adkins has said himself that a lot of teams will come and park the bus... I'm afraid we need more players who can unlock those teams. We missed Wallace, Baxter and Adams today but we still haven't got enough central players in particular who can run at teams and there are question marks about those three anyway. Keeping the ball's a massive part of it too and Basham and Reed at home against a five man midfield is always going to struggle.

We're going to get bumps in the road – let's try not to overreact. We bounced back well from Gillingham and went on an impressive run that ended today. Our next impressive run starts on Tuesday.

I don't see my post as an overreaction.
I found the response by some of our fans to our 4 game winning run as an overreaction.

I said before today we need to reinforce the defence and we still need to reinforce the defence.

If we're serious about the top 2 that is.

I never said it was – that was more of a plea ahead of the inevitable evening of overreaction.

We know we need strengthening, we know that Adkins has targets he wants to bring in, and we know that after Tuesday we're going to try and get them in.

We also missed Jamie Murphy today, and he isn't coming back into the team

You're a bit like King Cnut mate. It's going to be the highlight of their Saturday evening for some.

Up the Blades, onwards to Tuesday.

Well it was soooooo easy to replace Murphy according to most on this forum once JCR went off we had no one who could beat his man up front Woolford is rubbish Millwall must be pissing themselves laughing. Having said that what chances we laid on for Sammon and Sharpe were missed, Billy was even lucky with the penalty which should have been saved.

With the amount of chances we had we should have been out of sight.

The point that is trying to be made is we better take all those chances cos when you have the likes of Mceverly back there we are always vulnerable to conceding through major fuck ups.

We dominated most of the match and enough bloody corners as well. The other team will always get a handful of chances during the match and Bury took 3 out the 6 they had.

Hopefully now Adkins now realises what a liability McEverley is, no surprise that we got kicked all over the field by a set of cloggers as we are soft all over the team, Sharpe and Sammon deary me cows arse and a banjo's spring to mind.

Yeah some good performances lately has masked our defensive problems, today certainly made it clear that we still have a problem back there.

Why some of us were a bit miffed that we hadn't sorted out our clear defensive deficiencies in the transfer window. Today is why.

Let's hope we can properly sort it before the top two open up a gap.

Not sure if I've mentioned this but.........

Unless JCR was injured, I would have kept him on for another 10/15. And brought Flynny on for Woolford. McEverley was shocking today, Collins and Egdar not much better either

Agreed. We have been soft touches for 3 or 4 years. Even more so now Doyle has gone. Basham is pathetically weak for a big lad, ditto for Collins and Sammon. When things kicked off with Billy and Clarke hardly any of our players rushed in to Sharps's aid.

Many of our players lack a spine sadly and not sure we have enough 'winners' let alone 'hard men' to go up. We are a soft touch and lack leaders. The fact McEveley is captain is a joke. We had all summer to get a leader into the side. An experienced campaigner that would help stop standards drop and we continue with a set of nearly men.

The 3 home performances so far have not been much better than under Clough. Don't think anyone can honestly say we look a massively improved side but it will take time to change style/standards. Just a worry that Adkins has not dumped some of the hangers on that have not been good enough for 3 or 4 season. I for one cannot wait until the end of the season when we can finally get rid of 12-15 players that are simply not good enough if we want to go up and then ultimately stay up.

I think that all depends where you are sitting mate, from where I was sat, it looked like Freeman steamed in when the trouble started, as did Collins and Sammon, but I don't disagree that we need hard man in the line up, which (if injury free) would be young Terry Kennedy.

It's a pity your own understanding is so terminally limited. NA wants Dan Burn. He couldn't get him in the transfer window. He thinks he'll get him before the end of the month.

Who are the "top two" of whom you speak? It's highly unlikely to be the present top two come May. We are averaging two points per game. It might be better than that after Tuesday. That's promotion form. No team is going to open a gap on that.

Try thought rather than jerking your knees, eh?...
