Back in action tonight for the U21's.

Can't wait till we get them two back in the squad, with the injuries it's vital we have all the bodies we can. Flynn is a neat footballer too so I think he'll thrive drifting in from the right like the wide players have been thus far.

Kennedy needs no introduction. Knee's made of dust, heart and head made of stone. Half a season from him and I'll be delighted. It's make or break for him.

It'll be nice to see those two back. Kennedy probably can't be counted on to play many games but having him around should help us cope when Edgar is on international duty etc.

Flynn gives us another option for the right. JCR's doing OK at the moment but we know he can blow hot and cold so havign Flynn as an alternative and a different type of player can only be a good thing. If we can keep the fit players fit and get Brayford, Harris, Kennedy, Flynn and Done back, the squad will look really strong.

Can't wait till we get Alcock back fit as well. Really think he's going to give Freeman and Brayford something to worry about. That's if he hasn't already sealed his place at centre half by the point Brayford is back.

Sarcasm? I hope so. Alcock is a load of toss.

I don't find Alcock that bad but he's very limited. A squad filler for a club with a small squad. When you have a big one like ours, you don't need someone so utterly mediocre. Would be good to move him on to someone like Vale, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Scunny, Southen etc. I think that's abotu his level.

Without sounding too harsh, I think he's a complete and utter abomonation. The worst right back I've seen us have. Makes Freeman look like Cafu.

He reminds me of a bad Ryan France.

That's a remarkable observation.

1. Did anyone see enough of RF to have anything now "remind" them of him?
2. Is there any need for the "a bad" in there? It implies that there is another sort of RF that isn't bad. Can't be right.
3. As I'd, almost, forgotten RF ever existed, that post has depressed me no end just reading the name again. Ugh.

you do realise he was the only player consistant player in the back 4 (when played at RB) during the purple patch last season.

he got injured, so did the back up and then the back up back up (Flynn) got injured and we were scuppered)

He played Right Back from the Peterborough game (after being deployed as CB for the first 2 games in the league)

he was then injured in or after the Oldham Game in November (having lost just 3 games in that period in the league and winning 9, drawing 3....) so 30 points from 15 games... (2pts per game promotion winning form I believe)

after that we picked up 3 points in the next 5 games.... (or 6 points from the next 7 games) coincidence.... maybe... maybe not....

I concur

But he's not really someone I'd keep in the squad

BTW - nobody was worse than Nosworthy

at the moment he is the only other semi fit Right back at the club, if Freeman gets injured, and we got rid of Alcock then we would have to play a player out of position thus weakening somewhere else.

I think when Brayford is back I agree he would be third on the pecking list, (I am not sure Brayford would just walk back in considering the good form Freeman is in) but would be foolhardy to remove the only cover before the rest are back.

When Flynn is available for the first team then I'd go back to Flynn at RB with JCR in front of him.

I think we need to remember that Brayford has had an injury that not so long ago would have been a career finisher. Even when he does get back playing it's unlikely he'll be the same player for a little while. Not saying Alcock is the best fullback I've ever seen but until Brayford shows he's fully fit, we do need cover for Freeman.

Agree. I'd probably keep him until Brayford's back, loan him out short term to get match fitness and then bring him back for the back end of the season when we always seem to get scuppered by injuries.

Alcock's a "steady eddie" at right back but for me, Freeman, Brayford and Flynn are all better there. When Flynn is up and running, I would say let him out on loan with a view to a permanent in January.

He was Kyle Walker's 'replacement' he's hard to forget.
I remember him putting in a half decent game at centre mid, that's all.
