I was driving along Cleethorpes front about lunchtime today when a large group of youths in familiar black Adidas tracksuits crossed the road ahead of me. As I passed it was clearly a United youth team possibly U14's, with a couple of Academy coaches, they had a couple of balls and them stick in posts and were heading toward the beach.

No wonder there's no Murphy money left for signings when we're sending the kids on exotic fucking holidays, no doubt dressed up as some sort of 'training camp'.

Come on Jim, sort it out

They've been out there as part of their development, they like to do different things with them rather than hammering them with constant coaching at the academy.

Various groups have also been abroad to various climes in the last few months.

How would you describe the climate at Cleethorpes?

It was overcast with a stiff breeze coming in off the North Sea, bit of drizzle about, which I believe is the norm for this time of the year?

I guessed they were there to get toughened up ready for the new season with a training session on the beach. I can imagine them now in the club caravan, all huddled round the portable gas heater trying to get dog shit out of the tread on their trainers. UTB :)

Three things.

1. Should be practicing on a desso pitch, our days of playing on more sand than grass should be over.
2. If Cleethorpes is exotic then I'm not quite sure what un exotic is. To me, being sent to Cleethorpes is because they've been naughty somewhere..
3. Best also be careful in case the old Cleethorpes Beach Patrol spot our young uns, assuming of course they still exist...

There were a load in Manchester Airport last month as well. Player power gone mad if you ask me.

If authorities see a load o' youths dressed in shell suits on Cleethorpes beach then they'll think they've found another way in from Calais.

Bad news this. Just as we thought thinks we're picking up - it's Ched all over again.

Ah but I understand this is part of McCabes new masterplan to get more young foreign players into the UK. He struck a deal in Calais last week and we have first dibs on any that make it over.
