F'kin car park gone up from £3.50 to fkin £6 WTF? Robbin b'stards

Wednesday fans have nicked the battery out the scoreboard to run theirs

As for game, plenty of movement up top
Plenty of endeavour
Worked hard and as a team
Chessie had too much possession for the away team
Brilliant result in view of what's gone on this last week
Some f'ker at least tie Che down to a lucrative long term deal. Yes, I know it can still go t1ts up, but let's give ourselves as much ammo as we can

At last, a happy weekend, especially as them f'kers across town will be a bit quieter now after thinking HMS P1ss the league had already completed it's voyage

Yes well done to everyone involved in todays victory!

Murphy has gone now and hopefully in the next week or so we will see one or two incoming for positions at the back.

Indeed, it's still a work in progress, many positives Che, Billy Sharp and Salmon leading the line well, Basham in the second half, Wallace's brief but impressive cameo (get match fit and stay fit please) Strong defensive work from Collins and Edgar.

Things that need some work though, not sure about Baxter as holding Midfielder, Scougall does not look like he is going to make it above Scottish Championship level and we still drop deep and conceded too much possession, especially in the first half.

But the positives outweigh today and I am relieved after last Saturday and the disappointment of Murphy.

An 8 and a half out of ten from me.

If we want a holding midfielder their no 5 showed baxter how to do it.

Lots of positives but if I were Dean Saunders I'd be a bit aggrieved that we got a 2-0 comfortable looking scoreline. I thought they looked more of a team than we did for long periods.

The big lad up top caused a lot of problems. We looked better equipped in the air defensively. I liked the addition of Edgar. Che was unstoppable at times but still obviously raw, let's not put too much pressure on him. Excellent crowd.

No5 is Morsey

Will be leaving in due course I believe, as he's in the last year of his contract. Number of clubs interested

well we are only 1 point off third as we chase the only 2 unbeaten teams , Coventry and Rochdale

think its possible we might catch them

14 corners against and I didn't feel like we would concede had they had 34. A vast improvement defensively.

Good player is Morsey, he was good against us last season too. Him/Bash/Wallace would be good midfield options for us. Sure he'll go higher than our level though.

Anyone who pays £6 to park at the Lane has too much money or is a lazy fuck.

Well done Blades. A much needed win after the events of yesterday. Under the circumstances you could almost say it makes up for last week.

Edgar and Collins were hugely impressive. Couldn't fault either. What a pleasure to see four or five big powerful lads out there. Certainly I had none of the shredded nerves of last season when defending leads late on. It may have been an illusion but the customary "everybody retreat 20 yards" when we score didn't happen. We looked for more; even left Sharp upfield at corners.

Pleasantly surprised by Conor Sammon. Lead the line tirelessly and intelligently. May not score many but he's mobile, unrelenting and he had a big part in both goals today.

Freeman and j-Mac did fine.

Billy did well, He's got a lot more know -how since last we saw him.

Midfield needs work. Scoogs did his cause no good today and Jose was subbed due to injury. On the other hand JW looked lively and helped us wrest midfield control from them second half. Woolford had a good 15 minute cameo with a couple of surging runs.

All in all, a work in progress as Nigel was first to acknowledge, but we're in good hands and I see better times ahead.

Oh, nearly forgot - Young Che: Man of the Match and destined for great things. Ten times the player Murphy was. Pace, strength, power, control and a finisher. How can he fail?

A good day and over 23k to see it. We're on our way.

Much improved today.

I've been very critical so far but this one deserves a hats off to the team and Adkins alike.

Hope we can really kick on from now.

Yeah a big well done to the players today - to bounce back from the joke that was last week, and then the Murphy news yesterday, was good character.

I was really impressed with Egar, shows exactly what we have been missing to have a solid big centre back in there.

I thought Sammon played some really nice lay off balls, linked up well for Adams' second. Adams was class at times today, get him signed up for a longer deal.

Midfield could have done with taking control of the game better. Baxter (then Wallace) and Bash all sat too deep. Baxter needs to move forward slightly, and Bash needs to do the deeper 'bite' role.

All in all, a big improvement (but that wasnt hard).

A big well done to the lads.

If I had to pick a few out..

Edgar - solid home debut

Collins - much criticised but with the right partner (a CB) he looked solid

Howard - gave the back four confidence. Commanding at set pieces and good distribution

Adams - a lot of pressure on the lad today on the back of Murphy leaving. Delivered.

Sammon and sharp - worked tirelessly and will definitely bag a load of goals as we progress as a team.

Adkins - showed he can see where we struggled last week and sorted it.

Fans - cracking turnout and vocal backing. Could have been negative today after the Murphy sale but sang loud and proud from the off (during the Woodward tribute)

The beer is tasting good tonight.

Anyone think maybe the players knowing Murphy was leaving could be partly responsible for the half arsed efforts at
Gillingham last week ? Good win good crowd and them feckers dipped at Portman Rd makes for a good weekend.

Thing about Sammon is he's not really from what I saw much of a target man, but more just a general nuisance with good strength and ability to link play. There were plenty of punts up the pitch that I was expecting the Chessie defence to head clear, but Sammon through his strength and positioning more often than not got to get the ball to his feet. It's possible their defenders were simply blinded by the reflection off his head.

Excellent summing up, forwards and defenders were good today, midfield let Chesterfield boss most of the game, though Wallace gave us a bit more bite. Slice of humble pie from me, thought Sammon was awesome. Special mentions for the CB's today. Where was the referee from today, North Wingfield ?, wait till you get him for one of your games Mr Evans, you will have something to moan about.
