Rumoured to be a target for us. Not in Chesterfields match day squad tonight.

Is he injured/suspended?

Supposedly out with a groin injury, but there are rumours he's been spotted working out as normal in the gym.

Sounds like a good player though, could be ideal for our centre mid issues. Scores goals too apparently.

I need to get off the Chesterfield forum...

Morsy is the one we want from Chezzie but apparently there are some Championship clubs after him.

Signing for Fleetwood according to Radio Sheffield. Rated him against us, I thought he'd end of at a bigger tbh. Maybe Fleetwood see next season as a massive opportunity to get out of L1 and will be chucking the cash about.

Gary Roberts off to Portsmouth. Looks like the Chesterfield play off team is broken up.

Sam Clucas on his way by the looks of it too, after Cook going as well, could be a tricky season for them.

He's a good player and i 'll be shocked if he doesn't play at a higher level, perhaps we can get Morsy instead, who was another good player.

Alex Ferguson said in his autobiography that he never forgot a very good advice from Jimmy Sirrel which was "Never allow too many contracts to run out at the same time". It looks like Chesterfield have this sort of problem

Good advice, but easier to apply if you're ManUre and not Chesterfield.

Excuse me if i'm wrong but haven't Fleetwood had big investment in recent years? That could maybe explain some of these rumours, it would be a brilliant signing for them in my opinion.

Yeah, they are no slouches. They have a fair amount of money behind them and I won't be surprised if they make the Championship within the next 3 years.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're back in the Conference in 5 years. As soon as their Golden Goose moves on (he'll go to Blackpool as soon as Oyston finally disappears), they'll sink as quickly as they came up. A club can't survive on 2500 fans, even in League 1.

Nah, they're building up a fan base in Fleetwood and they've invested a lot of money into the club infrastructure too. They are in a much better position than Blackpool right now and I can't see their owner selling up to buy Blackpool instead. It would defy sense for him to move now. They won't last in the Championship for too long but they're building up a fan base that will see them remain in football league in the long term.

They're pretty much at the maximum fan base they could possibly have IMO and as mentioned when they beat us last season, the population of Fleetwood would fit into our ground so it's not as if they're going to bring in any new fans. They have a fair few Blackpool fans at the moment and if, I know it's a big 'if', Blackpool manage to turn the corner, they will be back to Gloomfield Road. There's no way Fleetwood can sustain a League 1 team on crowds of 2500-3500 and if and when Pilley goes, that'll be it unless they can find another invester with deep pockets.

But they've got an area around them too. If they can tap into the area between Fleetwood and Blackpool and get the neutrals and glory-hunters hooked on cheap exciting football then they've established a decent fan base. Not forgetting, they have a very young fan base too.

People like me you mean :) Cleveleys is a retirement home, not many potential new fans there and these days, most of the kids walk round with Messi and Ronaldo shirts because FIFA is all they know.

Don't forget Blackpool used to have crowds of 4-6,000 prior to the Holloway revolution and they have the pull (if you can call it that) of the resort and weekend visitors.

I'll just boost this one back up again. I was unfortunate enough to see Fleetwood against Barnsley yesterday and he absolutely ran the game. Loads of energy, always looking for the ball, quick short passes to the front players, sprayed it about to the wide players and never stopped running.

I don't recall him standing out against us a couple of weeks ago but then again I was probably concentrating on our lot. Would be the perfect foil for Hammond if, as expected, he signs in the summer. If Fleetwood carry on like they did yesterday, he won't be a League 1 player next season if he stays with them.
