The timing meant that it had to be today. Jessica Ennis-Hill qualified for the British Olympic team yesterday, thus ruling herself out of the job as manager at SUFC. Second choice manager in the wings, awaiting the press conference.

The way we go through managers she'll have been sacked in March allowing her time to prepare for the Olympics.

Hope she gets gold again so we can get another stand named after her...

While the location of the announcement is somewhat surprising, the reasons are that it was logistically more beneficial with the parties having initially met in the capital, while some officials are also due to be heading off to Portugal for the annual Football League conference.

Assuming it is Nigel, I reckon that looking at that list, the last time I felt excited by an appointment before this one was probably Howard and I don't know whether that was a popular choice at the time or not. I wasn't even very excited by Neil and certainly by nobody since him, even last Nigel.
