As always, if you watch the SUFC ones on the club website, you'll need to log in. I'll upload SUFC YouTube clips as and when the clubs post them, but if you find something before me, please add it to the thread.

Wilder is live on Saturday at 0930.
Link below 👇

I will do some notes once I've seen it.

A link? A bloody link? You know you've set a standard now.

Rak Saki also to play a part Monday.. had a tight hamstring!
Can’t help but feel he may have a role to play if fully fit. Not sure I’d be happy sitting back surrendering possession and playing long ball. Think Monday calls for 4-2-3-1.

Some notes from Wilder's presser:

Bit late, life took over this morning. UTB

Injuries & Absences:
  • "Everybody's fit and banging on the door to play"
  • "We are delighted. We made a decision on Femi and BBD on Thursday night, and we're delighted to say both of them will be involved on Monday night. Credit to the sport science department, the conditioners, the physios, the doctors, to give me the opportunity to pick from a full [squad]"
  • He talked about the lads who haven't played much recently and how pleased he has been with their "outstanding" performances and contributions, namechecking O'Hare, Books, Moore, Tom Davies and others
  • He mentioned them having the togetherness still, supporting their teammates who are playing, and having the right attitude. "Take Callum, for example. He played the most minutes and all of a sudden we change it around, and he gets on with it and comes roaring back. It's a perfect example of what I'm talking about."
  • JRS "had a bit of a tight hamstring, so we've been careful. I've not gambled with him. He was close to being involved on Thursday. He'll be involved [on Monday]"
  • A real bonus having Tom Davies back? "Brilliant, a great bonus. We saw glimpses in November. Really pleased for him, he's a really good player, bringing calmness and assurance. Sydie was on a booking so it was a sensible to get him off the pitch. [Tom's] going to be a big player for us on Monday night. Hopefully he can carve out a similar career at Sheffield United like he did at Everton at the start of his career"

Reflecting on the first leg, and looking ahead to the second:
  • "The message right the way through this playoff campaign was to reset and go again, which we have done and got a fabulous result on Thursday"
  • "If they'd had 11 men, I still think we'd have created the chances"
  • "Never take anything for granted. One action can define a game, so we've got to be consistent. We've given ourselves an opportunity to go finish a job and we've got to go do that"
  • "The way the team have handled everything since walking off the pitch at Burnley has been outstanding"
  • We are "focused and determined"
  • "The atmosphere on Thursday night was electric from our support. I felt a bit for them at the end, because I grabbed our players and took them off, but deep down they know why"
  • "The attitude coming off the pitch on Thursday night, you saw it, it wasn't for show, it was because we've still got a job to do"
  • "The energy [a good BDTBL atmosphere] gives the players is incredible, so for me it is really important. We live for these big games. It makes it really difficult for the opposition. [The fans can] make it really uncomfortable for the players and put them on the back foot"
  • The players "deserve that atmosphere and a full house"
  • "We wanna go finish a job together", players and fans
  • "It's about experiences [as a fan]", mentioning Leicester and Darlington and how it gets talked about, saying maybe fans in the future will talk about this season, "Were you there the night United got to Wembley"
  • "I know financially it's a tough environment, and I'm not taking that for granted"
  • "We are playing to win. You have to be pragmatic sometimes with your approach in the PL, but we are a big club in this division and we go [into every game] to win. We wanna win one last game at home"
  • "We are incredibly determined to go and take the opportunity [to get promoted]"
  • He was asked, how much do you want the opportunity to go and make history with a playoff win at Wembley? "More than anything that I've ever wanted in my life professionally"
  • "Our fight has to be bigger than their fight"
  • About the players approach to the playoffs, "Motivation levels at this part of the season with what's at stake, and what they can achieve personally and as a group is enormous and will stay with them the rest of their lives. It's our time as a football club, and it's your time as a player. The whole reason you came to this football club is to play in big games. It's your time now to produce the goods"
  • "It's in our hands"

General:
  • "The narrative around might be that Sheffield United need to go up. Financially they need to go up. That's not the case"
  • Talking about where the goals are coming from, "We haven't got a Billy Sharp in the team who will get you 25/30 goals, but I don't mind that. Wherever the goals come from, I don't mind"
  • "We can keep a clean sheet, which is a start, and we have players at the top of the pitch who can take big moments"
  • "The facilities in the training ground [are better now than previously, which adversely] impacted the previous regime"
  • "Have a look at the bench for the last time we played Sunderland at their place. We've [recruited well]"
  • "We've tried to sign players for the big moments, and that's what gives us confidence [about the playoffs]"
  • "Touching on the [Bash game} for a minute. It was incredible. The moments we had in the changing room before the game. We had a beer before the game. Not the best approach, but none of the lads were surprised at my approach. A brilliant occasion for a fabulous cause. Brilliant for Sheff United and brilliant for the City"

Does that mean Peck is one booking away from missing the final? If so, the midfield could be interesting. Perhaps Choudhury and Souza with Seriki going back in at right back, or will he start Davies alongside Vini in place of Peck?

No. Yellows don’t count towards suspensions in the playoffs, only reds

That’s a shame, it’s denied the ref on Monday the opportunity to do something very, very funny
In a purely selfish sense, they now take to the field having to leave themselves open with an even lesser defence than the one from the other day and a weaker midfield due to the lad unfortunately getting injured.

I can’t imagine they have great depth in their squad. So they are either rushing back two lads from injury who only just made the bench or picking two lesser players.

All augers well for United.
