Last season we finished with L15 and a total of 67 PTS

With just 3 league games to go this year we have L13 and a total of 68 PTS

The squad in the 12 months has not progressed.
 



You sure Brayfords beards not longer and his hair line hasn't receded further?

Not really job done when the aim was to achieve automatic promotion... We won't be going up via the playoffs if we don't steam roll our next three opponents. No team wins the playoffs in shit form
 
I think "no progress" is a fair and accurate verdict on this season. We look as flat and abject (even in our victories) as we did at the start of the season. It's only the recent Scunthorpe game where I can say we've comprehensively beaten a side.

What angers me more then anything is Cloughs attitude throughout this season. From alienating players, to bloating the squad out with mediocrity, to blaming everything from injuries, the crowd and HIS players in his interviews.

Obviously if we did the unthinkable and went on to win in the playoffs it would paper over these cracks, but the statement Nige makes about our side being setup better for the Championship is a load of bollocks. Brentford and Bournemouth didn't adapt their style of play this season, Rotherham did, look how that worked out. Whatever division we're in for 2015/2016 we will have the same problems waiting for us then.

One Word BOLLOCKS ! no team has ever got promotion based on the form of the last three matches - You are talking out of your arse !
Yes, we are all disapointed but lets all throw in the towel
You lot on here are mealy mouthed excuses of fans with no conviction, belief or desire to achieve promotion - just looking for automatic promotion because we are Sheffield United FC - you lot should go over to S6 - You seem to have their ideology or Massive this and Massive that - Face the real world !

You've moved your goalposts.

Your post stated progress not the aim...

However, I'll entertain your post. We don't have to steam roll any of the next three opponents, we have to secure our slot in the play offs.

From there it's really a two legged cup game and possibly a final game.

I personally have no positivity for going up via the play offs, it's just not for us. However with cloughs record in cup games we've got our best chance.
 
I am sure that Mr Clough was saying WTF to the players after that performance but no need for this mass hysteria - we are in the play off position and will qualify Have Faith
And yes we will go on to win the play offs
Hopefully all the negative dick heads baying for Mr Cloughs head will stay away and leave supporting the Blades to true Unitedites !
BDTBL will be a far better place in their absence !

They are dickheads because we are a team that has almost qualified for the play offs and barring a miracle will be competing in the end of the season lottery yet they are calling for the managers head - now is the time to get behind both the team and the manager - we have possibly six more games to define our season and realise promotion yet the Dickheads are calling to sack the manager !

Well i suppose I do agree in that calling for the manager's head right now would be silly. At the end of the season, and if we don't go up, i'm sure Mr Phipps & Co will make the appropriate and informed decision.

Said this months ago wouldn't matter if we finished 6th with 70 odd points or 3rd with high 80s its 3 matches of who wants to turn up and take the game, historically we rarely do this and Wembley is a place of misery not joy for us in recent years but the point is we are still in the play offs and have just as good of a chance to get promoted as the other 3 teams who i would also like to point out we have beat this season.

Yeah, you set of bastards! I suppose the mealy-mouthed, part-time fuckers who went to Yeovil had the temerity to slag the players off! Cunts!

Seriously, when Clough goes - and last night's results make it sooner rather than later - it will not be because the fans are 'impatient', 'slashers' or any other insult going. It's because the 'powers that be', whatever their success in other fields of endeavour, simply haven't got a clue about what constitutes a decent football manager. They will have to decide whether to trust Clough with any more transfer money and whether we can continue this 'one step forward, two steps back' business 'model'. I rather suspect they won't.

Let's face it, this season has been an embarrassment. 'But we're in the play-offs!' a diminishing band will cry. Only because this division has been abysmal. Any team who has been routinely humiliated by the likes of Yeovil, Crewe, Fleetwood etc. etc. should not be in the play-offs. The excuses are fast running out. When we fail in the play-offs, what excuses will be left? The odd Cup game?

Halfway through April and not only is Clough 'not sure of his best eleven', the latest excuse is that 'he questions the players' commitment'. So, apart from pinning up the team sheet, can anybody tell me what this guy actually does for his handsome salary?

Rather than 'go over to S6', we'll turn out in numbers again on Saturday and the last game v. Chezzie. And, like recent seasons when playing Wednesday, Barnsley and Rotherham, Chesterfield fans will celebrate signs of forward progress while we face a fifth year in this division.

But then it's all the supporters fault...

Why don't I quote any of your posts from 2 years ago laying into Danny Wilson for the slightest thing then? Or is it alright to slag everything off to do with the Club when you want to?
 
One thing that I'm struggling to comprehend is that we have a team who are 5th in the league, know what promotion would mean to the supporters, and yet they are having to apologies to fans for an inept display 3 weeks before the season ends. Doesn't bode well.

I'd now say there is huge pressure on the next 3 games. They need to put in big performances. If we'd have won last night then the last 3 games would have had a whole different feel to them.
 
I'm not feeling the love guys, yes it has been disappointing to be a blades fan at times, BUT WE ARE BLADES, and we take the rough with the smooth.
 
Think there is every reason for rage when we lose away at a relegated team. If some of it is misdirected so what? What gets me is people already lining up to have a pop in the shout box before we even conceded. The performance was abject and the people present have every right to vent spleens. I wonder how much pre meditated rage is valid via shout box though. Seems a bit wet to be honest. We are however still in a play off position and come 46 games if that is still the case we have a chance. Yeovil away will be forgotten if we go up.

Its funny how many people say to me "but with Clough's record in the cup". Then i remind them that we were knocked out of 2 out of 3 cups by teams from our division. If we were playing premier league teams in order to gain promotion i'd fancy our chances but we seem to struggle against teams from our division.
